I didn't know this until the mechanic tried to install it. I had to return the DP and get an N26 DP.

Also, the N26 has an extra cat apart from the one in the downpipe. I removed mine + resonator delete along with a high flow DP (<3 the environment) and a AA exhaust and it sounds nice no drone.
We just did this mod on a N26... the N20 dp will fit the turbo side but the exhaust side will not because the n26 dp uses a v clamp while the n20 dp use a slipped on. To make this work you need all N20 pipes from turbo to exhaust.

You need everything:
1. N20 dp
2. N20 exhaust system (midpipe to exhaust).
Could I have my Indy mechanic order an OEM N20 downpipe directly from BMW or is my only option to find one used?

I'm trying to attach an OEM N20 downpipe to the N20 AWE midpipe and quad touring exhaust while staying Carb certified and passing smog on my N26. I would like to pair with a stage 3 Dinan tune and Dinan intercooler to get safe gains, pass smog, and not throw a CEL, albeit expensively.

I bolded the paragraph... You have n20 downpipe that will plug in into your turbo, no problem....I can't remember the hangar tho. Then your awe midpipe will bolt in(yes n20 vs n26 midpipe hanger is different you might want to figure something here). The axle back will be no problem. So much to do sorry. But it will work.

Last thing ....why do all this work. Dinan stage 3, not worth it and to pass smog... Where you at California.. dinan stage 3 I know from a friend here in California will not pass smog. The last time I look at dinan website... Everything still say carb exempt pending.

So what I'm understanding from this thread is that it's possible to remove my N26 downpipe and factory mid pipe and replace with N20 downpipe and awe midpipe with only a hangar to modify?
since awe stopped discontinued n26 midpipe

That sound right. Midpipe hanger is different.
