Do you find the torque numbers to be kind of low?

you guys absolutely rock.. I have complete confidence in AA, on what is already great results right in line with where they should be.

Thanks David!

Correct, the boost numbers should be around 18-19psi.

18-19 psi on stage 1+!?!?!?! That seems high based on what I'm logging running bm3 stage 2. My boost is maxing at about 17 psi with timing between 5-11 degrees. Granted boost will be a function of altitude, load, and timing so it's not really apples to apples.

Unfortunately, I can't modify the log parameters post log. I'm hoping bm3 gets pulled into datazapp. I like how you can choose parameters in those logs.

Great to know thank you.. I will start research today on how to test for a possible boost leak as a place to start, barring other suggestions. Thank you for the excellent support!

Did you share the logs? How do you know you have a boost leak? Does the log show a deviation between target boost and actual boost? If actual boost meets target boost, or close to it, then you don't have a boost leak.

Shoot me a PM with your email and I am happy to send you the full logs. That said, I have Torque Pro for the logs, so I dont have boost target values.. I wish I did.

my thoughts too!! Having said that i thought the bm3 boost was low.

Also i dont how these are low. They advertise 80 gain with a catless dp. He is up 60 and has stock cat. Seems dead inline.

bm3 leverages timing advance over boost to make power, so you will see the bm3 logs showing lower boost. I also think they low ball the power gains. I had gains of +100 hp/+150 tq with catless dp, stage 2 on 91 octane and some corn.

It's my understanding that the Torque app won't really give you true boost numbers as it's reading the boost data directly from the DME. Since the DME is being tricked by tunes and piggybacks into seeing lower than actual boost, the boost being reported is lower than actual.

As for dyno numbers, there is VERY little difference in variability between Dynojet numbers. That's what makes the Dynojet so great for comparing dyno numbers.

Assuming 1) the car isn't have an issue (i.e., heat soak, some sort of tuning or mechanical issue, other drivetrain changes); 2) the correction factors are the same (i.e., SAE and STD); and 3) the correction factors aren't extreme (i.e., excessively low or high ambient heat/humidity), you can compare the numbers on two different Dynojets and draw some realistic conclusions if something is gaining power or not. Using the same Dynojet is ideal, but the dyno is incredibly simple in it's design. As the operator, you cannot manipulate the power readings like you can with other Dynos. You can mess around with correction factors, but that's easy to see as the user.

Now what I've noticed be the stock runs and current modded runs is that stock was corrected to SAE and the modded to STD. It's a fact that STD numbers are a bit higher (~3-4%) than SAE corrected numbers. I will say that raichen's stock numbers are pretty high for a non-MPPK equipped EWG N55. Most EWG non-MPPK cars make around ~280whp and ~300twq on the Dynojet. Most MPPK EWG N55s see ~300whp and ~320wtq on the Dynojet. The 6MT cars will see fractionally higher numbers.

That is the case for piggybacks but not flash tunes. Flash tunes actually change DME target parameters.

I fully second that.

Before buying a product you need to verify if it will match your expectations.
Mine for the tune where:
- No piggy back tune
- Tune of experienced BMW specialist
- No to low risk of getting into limp mode
- Driveability of the car as with stock. (No nervous behaving/shifting in the drinving modes)
- Good sound without being ridiculous
- Better throttle response, and more torque up to around 5000 rpm
- Easy flash back to stock
- Overall: a bit more power than with MPPK for a reasonable fair price.

And time will show:
- Durability

For me it is more important of how the tuned car behaves form like 1000 to 5500 rpm compared to the stock car. So it's not so much the top numbers of power and torque that counts for me, as I don't spend much time driving around at 6000 rpm.
It's about what I get in the range I use the car at most and for what price/consequence. (i.e. driveability, durability)

For the short time I drive the AA Flash tune (rest is stock) I'm very satisfied with what I got. It's matching my expectations!

I just wanted to share the STELLAR support from AA. I have already gotten a detailed response and a new ECU build. My goal is to pull a new set of logs (non dyno) with the current build to pull some additional info, and then the same with the new build. I hope to get this done probably tomorrow afternoon.
