JB4 with meth question

Hey all

I posted this question on the BMS forum as well, but it seems that this forum gets a bit more traffic so I posted here also. I will add any answers I receive there to this post.

So I have BMS meth kit on the way.

My question is regarding the settings.

My understanding is that with the typical map 3 settings, meth flow is based on boost and historical timing. I understand this as the better historical timing detected by the JB4 the more boost and the more meth is sprayed.

I sometimes run 4 gals of e85 mixed in with 93. Sometimes I don't due to the e85 station being about 30 mins away.

If I have the e85 mix and the JB4 is basing meth spray off the timing I get with the higher octane mix, what happens when I fill up with just 93? Will the JB4 run more boost and meth than it should for just 93? How long will it take to "learn down" to the lower octane?

Is there a solution to this? Maybe map six for 93 and map 3 for the e85 mix?

Car is a 2015 F36 FBO
Updated firmware JB4 with BMS Race BEF via MHD

Any answers or comments are welcomed.

Thanks

Under JB4 WMI settings there is option where you set the Boost Additive. So when you run e85 mix you can manually change it to run more boost and when you run just 93 you can dial it back to run less boost. Moreover, depending on what you set your safety settings if the boost was too much for the octane you are running. The JB4 will automatically lower the boost target until the car stop pulling timing.
But you should not use it like that, you should set the boost target properly for the fuel you are running.

Thank you so much for this.

So I will take several logs with each fuel then adjust the additive as high as I can with clean timing. Then I will know where to set it each time I change fuel mix.
