NHTSA approves Adaptive headlight

I know that the anti glare option was disabled for the US market because of NHTSA from the past. But since it changed, I hope that bmw will do the right thing and enable that feature for free.

Clearly you did not read beyond the headline:

“While Audi, BMW, Toyota, and more already have the technology, don’t expect to see it on U.S. roads until at least a few years down the line, as the headlights will still have to go through testing to be approved, and it will take some time to fit them to U.S. production-spec vehicles.”

But this is just by default, right? Iirc, for certain cars with the right hardware, you can just enable the auto high beam option. I believe a co worker of mine had it coded in.
