Axel-back diamond-black quad tips - Factory Install & Experience So Far
I'm lucky enough to not live too far from AWE HQ in PA. Once I learned they do installation there, I knew I had to make the drive up to see it firsthand and get my new exhaust installed directly by them.
They have a very impressive operation, both for manufacturing and installations! All USA sourced materials and all made right there! It was a great experience. Made a handful of posts (and a story book thing) on my IG. https://www.instagram.com/waxwing_f31/ So far I'm loving it, especially the look! IMO the MSport bumper just begged for dual exhaust and now the rear looks complete (except maybe a diffuser ). The sound around town is perfect... A nice growl without being too loud. And really mellows out when just cruising. In sport mode, and with my BM3 Stg. 1 tune, I even get perfect, subtle burble. The only annoyance I have so far is out on the highway. Again cruising is fine - no drone. But if you load the motor just a bit, say going up a hill or passing, it gets a little loud in the cabin. I'm told this will calm some as carbon builds up inside. Maybe. But I think BMW just didn't put the same sound deadening material in the rear as they did in the M cars. Probably more noticeable in the wagons. I'm going to look into adding something like Kilmat and will let you all know what happens. Here's my cold start video: https://youtu.be/6uhmbphatJ0 |
