Creaking brakes?
Evening all,
Not sure if this is an issue but lately I have noticed that my car makes somewhat of a creaking noise when pressing the brake pedal. Not brake squeal but when stopped and in N and I am pressing down the brake pedal. I noticed this when I stopped at a drive-thru and was paying. I put car into N and was stopped but from habit I put my foot on the brake pedal to make sure it didn't roll forward. As I had window open I could hear the creaking clearly. I could also replicate it when back at home on the drive when pressing the brake pedal when stationary, I also tested it rolling forward on drive and same noise. Should it creak that much? Planning to take to garage to check but wanted to confirm it isn't normal before I go back to garage for first time since I bought her last March. thanks

The noise though is from the brakes themselves, not inside cabin. More so like the calipers? I will take it in to BMW to be sure, I just wondered if they were known to do this.

I never use Neutral so was intrigued why you use it. |

It's just the slack being taken out of the drive train when you select neutral. Don't you get the same when you select drive?

I get a slight creaking when pressing the brake pedal when stationary. I only notice it when I've got the window down in the car park at work. If I press it harder the creaking increases. Nothing to do with drive/neutral etc as I'm not moving. I've only done 3,500 miles as well so it's odd.

Must be something that needs lubing, always the way , but still plan to take it to local dealer to have it checked out just in case it is caliper issue or leads to something more if nothing done.

Rang dealer, they said to drop it in after explaining.
I asked about a loan car so I could drop it off on Friday as I will have my youngest son with me so rather not hang around. Was told too short notice for loan car. Was offered next Tuesday for loan car as next week is half term so will have eldest with me, but chargeable £12 to cover insurance. This took me by surprise - have dealt with Honda, Ford, Mercedes and never been charged for loan car for this type of thing. Am I being too harsh or should I expect better service than this? I spent 34k with them less than a year ago....maybe I am having a bad day.

Hi guys. Anyone had this issue with blue Msport callipers as I have this type noise from nsf of my 330d. Dry creaking sound very noticeable if brake presses when stationary. New genuine pads fitted by dealer less than 1k miles ago. Thanks
