Low coolant on diesels = likely EGR cooler failure
 Check your coolant expansion tank regularly; if it goes low for no apparent reason, (like mine did twice), get the motor to a dealership & have them diagnose the EGR cooler "regardless" of whether you have had a notice letter or not! At the time, I hadn't had a letter, but I insisted the dealership check the EGR cooler when the car was in for service early Nov18; they diagnosed it as defective; replaced it early Dec18 free of charge! My car 2014 320D EffDyn was on 102k miles at the time & full dealer history! Get it checked & replaced!
