Undo-ed Adaptive headlight DIY and now getting an error.

Hi,

I just undo-ed the Adaptive light DIY and went back to original halogen light.
I'm sure I correctly undo all the cabling (headlight connectors and the fem body).
The halogen lighting does work fine: DRL, low & high beam, parking lamps, fog lights are all functioning okay.

For the coding
1. I removed 522 and 524. Briefly, I deleted 522, 524 from the FA's SALAPA and hit 'Apply changes' then wrote FA & FP from the VCM Master tab.
2. I did VO code FEM_BODY. Right click the FEM_BODY and select code.
3. I checked the CAFD under the FEM_BODY so all the Adaptive related setting are set to 'disable'
4. Just to be sure I FDL_Code the CAFD.

My problem is I'm getting an error on my dash saying
"Adaptive headlight malfunction."
Please help. How do I get rid of this error?

I think you should also code the ICM.

It didn't work.
Coding the ICM gave me the Chasis Stabilization error.
Car turned off and started again then the Chasis Stabilization error seem to be gone though.

Adaptive headlight malfunction is still there.

So you checked all of these?
LWR_AHL_TYP = auto./dyn. LWR+AHL = 03

C_FLC_ENA = F030disable (LWR, Leveling sensor)

C_AFS_ENA = F030enable (Light Distribution)

C_BLC_ENA = F030enable (AHL)

C_CLC_ENA = F030enable (Cornering light)

These are the values I found for the xenon retrofit. I'm not sure what the original values are.

Yes I checked all those values in the CAFD under the FEM_BODY.
Original values are
LWR_AHL_TYP = ohne. LWR+AHL = 00
C_FLC_ENA = F030disable (LWR, Leveling sensor)
C_AFS_ENA = F030disable (Light Distribution)
C_BLC_ENA = F030disable (AHL)
C_CLC_ENA = F030disable (Cornering light)

Take it to Dealer and have them update to the newest iStep. Should do this every year or two anyway.

This will reset all your coding mistakes and set it up properly with all the factory options - including the factory halogens.

I figured it out and fixed it.
I just had to disconnect the battery and wait 10 ~ 15 seconds.
The error's gone after I reconnect the battery.

I had the same issue when I went back from retrofitted AHL xenon to normal xenon lights. I was checking everything several times, but always had the malfunction as you have mentioned. Finally simply disconnecting and reconnecting the battery solved the problem.

I took until late night and I had to return my company car the next morning to the dealer

will these codings work if I want to disable my retrofitted adaptive xenon? Tired of looking at the error every time I want a ride
