Part #1822000J
Why does ST’s website list the part # as 1822000F? What’s the difference in part #’s? Thanks..

ST makes 3 different models: X, XA, and XTA

X is just height adjustable

XA is height and dampening

XTA has camber plates, not sure if it does rebound also though.

check what's available for your car, I know for the F30 they don't list the XTA's as available.. maybe special ordered or just not made for the F30, if you really need camber plates you can always add them seperate.

The X and XA are listed on their website for the F32. I’ll be running an aggressive wheel set up, so I’ll definitely need them. I’ll call ST before I order. Thanks!

Ok so Ive been looking at suspension and its coming down to a few coilover sets. Based on what youre saying here, would you say you feel bumps and holes in a bad way? Ive had coilovers in the past and the 2 times ive had them on previous cars, it feels like the car is going to break. In my defense, the coilovers i had didnt have dampening systems so i couldnt mess with that. Would these ST XA's allow me to adjust the shocks in a way where I can almost mimic the m suspension ride quality? While i understand that dropping a car means losing some ride comfort, i dont want it to be to the point where it feels bad. What level would i have to adjust the dampeners where it doesnt feel like the entire car shakes if i hit a bump? If it helps, if i end up getting coilovers, i wouldnt slam my car. Probably just a tad bit higher than completely removing any gap between the fender and the wheel.

FYI i would put these on a 340i M sport with 403M's

I just had the ST XA's installed and they feel almost exactly the same as the H&R Sports I had on with my EDC shocks. Couldn't be happier. The shop said they had set at 3 out of 5 on damping. Thank you for the review to help with my decision.

Does the ride feel harsh? If you hit a bump do you really feel it or do the shocks absorb the bump well? Looking into these since it has the dampening system and would like to stay as close as possible to a stock feel

Drove around some more today and I love the ride. Firm but wouldn't say harsh. I think it rides better than my EDC shocks that were lowered with H&R sports. I think the shocks were going out slowly due to the lower height. I had ST's installed at Independent Motors in SD and he also recommended the ST's. He does a lot of autocross with his bimmer and runs them but with camber plates XTA's. Also note I have slightly larger tires 235/40 & 265/35 on 19's. Cali roads are getting bad and wanted some more cushion. My ground to fender height is about 25.75".

What does it take for a ride along so I can feel out these coilovers?

lol, probably just finding someone in your area with some spare time.. I have the ST XA's too and I'm in Los Angeles, doesn't help too much when you're in San Diego though.

The stiffness adjustment is at the top of the struts for both front and rear right?
So fronts can be adjusted just by opening the hood and lifting the rubber cover out of the way but the rear requires taking the whole shock out of the car?
I'm currently torn between ST XAs and BC Racing BRs...

correct, rears need to be removed. I have the ST XA's too and thought about adding the KW extensions to make it accessible from the trunk, but decided against it.. just an idea..

I've had the same idea when I had suspicions that the rears had to be removed, which is now confirmed...
I believe the wheel wells have to be drilled in order for the cable to pass through for that though right? I'm not so keen on drilling through the metal...

I wasn't either, but if done right it will be fine.. another member recently did it and install came out clean. I also wasn't too thrilled with drilling through the metal, but they do have gromet covers that will leave an oem finish, I probably would have done that, or may in the future.. for the most part I haven't adjusted them at all yet, even the fronts, the ride quality is fine for now in the middle.

Do ground control camber plates fit the XA's? Waiting on my set to arrive and decided I might as well hoard a few parts in the meantime

Not sure if the GC camber plates will fit or not. Below are the dimensions of the struts directly from KW. They emailed me this after I asked if they sold camber plates separately or if I could get the dimensions in order to source my own. Please note that this is for the ST-XA's for a 2016 F36.

"The upper ID of the front spring is 95mm and here are the dimension of the piston rod."

Ahh okay! Thanks for the info. I'm sure EAS has done plenty of these so I'll give them a call and find out which camber plates do customers usually go for. Hopefully vorshlag plates do fit considering they're compatible with KW

Just an FYI but GC camber plates do indeed fit these coilovers. Had them installed at EAS on Friday and couldn't be happier. For the coilover price and included cost of the camber plates though, I should have just gone with broadway static coilovers...
