Check out these custom Door pulls I scored from ECD Performance in Germany

Using BMW OEM door pull bases, covered with Carbon Leather with Tri Stitch

Their workmanship is excellent - time from order to delivery was 3-1/2 weeks - but worth the wait. CF Leather is exactly same as used from BMW

I currently use a mix of:

OEM M4 Aluminum Blade Trim pieces with Black Chrome Accents for Dash & iDrive Console
OEM MPerf Dry CF/Alcantara Shift Surround
OEM MPerf Dry CF Shift Knob
OEM MPerf M4 Dry CF Steering Wheel Trim
Alcantara Armrest with Tri stitch from IND

Bothered me to keep the original brushed aluminum door pulls that really didn't match - so I had these custom made.

Next I will have them do the kneerest pad on the M4 Front Console piece I retrofitted

Very interesting. Still trying to wrap my head around CF Leather as the low res resized pics for forum look more like a cloth knit than leather.

Don't know yet - I have the console & the kneepad is removable with (4) rivets, but trying not to have to ship it to Germany, have them recover, then ship it back.

I asked them if they could find one in a scrapyard over there to simplify things & the guy I've been dealing with is checking in to it...

I didn't install yet - waiting on custom CF Honeycomb weave mirror covers for my new M4 mirror retrofit.

Since I need to remove the door pulls anyway to take off the door panels for mirror install, I figured the least amount of times taking them on & off is better so as to not risk breaking any clips - so as soon as covers come in for mirrors I will be installing all at one time

I *assumed* they would simply make a new kneepad as they did with the doortrim. Does not make sense to send entire trim piece over.

In worse scenario, drill the rivets out and send the kneepad only.

Yes that's what they would do, but as you know the knee pad isn't available separately so they would have to buy entire console to get that part and the backing piece. They need the plastic backing and padding to complete the pad. I told them to try and get a trashed console for cheap as I only need the pad.

At this point they don't have anything to go by for pattern

And yes I would send them the pad only from mine - still a PITA with custom s papers and such

OK, so they can't source a kneepad local to them (or won't) so guess my only recourse if I want the kneepad done is too send mine to them

I think it looks great. I wish it was a bit more glossy to match the other carbon fiber trim pieces.

I don't have any glossy CF on the interior - all my interior CF is the OEM CF Leather which is matte as these door pulls and matches exactly

Oh I thought you had F80 carbon fiber trim which are glossy. For matte leather, it blends so well.

And what do you think an OEM pair of simple Black Merino leather with single color stitch would cost?

290€ seems incredibly cheap to me!

Guess you will not be ordering the $5000 Individual Paint color.
