If you pull the rear ash tray/bin, on the back of the arm rest, it should be right there. Assuming I know which connection you are looking for..

Thanks for your reply! I have yet control in that position, I think that on E-series the connector X4545 is there. Unfortunately the X29*1 is not in that position.

Wireless Charging Mod

My preliminary thoughts on my wireless charging mod:

I haven't yet decided on the location but am considering integrating it in the cup-holder slide cover or a pocket on the right side of the shifter (by integrating the X5 wireless charger pocket).

Originally I was looking at some inexpensive Qi chargers on Amazon as well as considering the following two Qi chargers:
Inbay Qi Charger Part # 240000-03
FreedomCharge Kit # FDMC-1210

However my current inclination is to use a BMW wireless charger since they also function as a cellular antenna amplifier and designed to mitigate the EMF interference while charging. This is a desired feature since I occasionally find myself in areas with weak mobile coverage.

The part numbers I am considering are:
84108781455, 84108781452 and 84108807424
Ive seen them go on eBay for as low as $45 and $65 for the antenna amplifier.

The units are Novero WCH-184a/b/c produced by Laird.

From what Ive read up, the wiring goes to the Aerial Amplifier/ LTE Compensator (required since I dont have wireless charging option) and power. (the LTE amp is plugged in between the wireless charger and the Telematic Box)

Ive attached a few relevant documents.

My one disappointment about the InBay unit is that it doesnt quickly charge my phone. At best it will maintain battery on my S8+, but only very very very slowly might charge. If I am in desperate need of power, I will turn my phone off completely and then place on the charger for at least a faster charge with no running power draw.

I would happily replicate the charger location and install if I could find a stronger unit.

I just bought a Qi Wireless phone charger from CarQi. Looking forward to installing it this upcoming week.

The product can be found here: http://bit.ly/2QoybBd

And this is a great step-by step guide on how to install it:

This will fit a 2013 f30 with the cigarette lighter in the storage compartment. Reviews have been very positive on this product.

You paid about twice as much for it as you would from AliExpress… but that's still a lot cheaper than the one in the arm rest that cost me $500 when I ordered it from the factory.

The factory Qi cradle is a royal PITA that won't fit my Motorola phone. I wound up spending another $30 for a 3D printed part to extend its reach.

I would have purchased that aftermarket charger if it had been available when I leased my car in mid 2017.
