Mpe only Fitted to 340i
Advise please !!!
Has anyone just fitted MPE to 340i rather than go for full MPPSK kit ? Was thinking of just fitting MPE to my wife's current 340i, And was wanting to know if anyone has done this rather than go for MPPSK kit, As I want more exhaust sound no extra power is needed, Being quoted £1020 for supply and fit from my local dealer for MPE only with chrome tips. |

I would try and find a car with it fitted and hear in person, they make an M4 exhaust sound tame.

Isn't there just a back box MPE for 340i ??? I would imagine it would sound very similar to the M140/240i MPE which is also just a back box if that is the case. It is a totally different system to the MPPSK exhaust which is a full cat back system with silencer bypass valves.....loud!!!

If the mpe is the same as the 140/240 version which i assume it is then its moderately louder at most. Little bit deeper and a bit louder.
If i had a 340/440 it would be mppsk or nothing, the mpe for 1k+ is laughable. |

I'm thinking the same process my 440i lci has 500 miles on her but is very quiet. Has the mpe still got the valve inside so once switched to sport mode the noise goes deeper. Like standard exhaust but a lot better. As I'm not bothered about extra bhp at the minute. I thought the mppsk was just mpe and a remap. So please if anyone has more info I'd like to know. Also I've seen the mppsk on eBay from a dealer who will install for £1900 is that cheap or expensive thanks in advance ian

I'm waiting on my MPE to be delivered, apparently had to ordered from Germany (hate waiting) but I think MPE only is enough subtitle loud for now from what I have heard but I only have a 428 so can imagine even better acoustics for your 440i.
Since I only want sound I think that should do the trick, I have heard some MPE's paired with catted downpipes, they sound beautiful too. |

had the MPE on my 335i tourer and it still had the valves and it sounded great must admit better than my new M3 MPE for that is around 3k plus fitting so might go a different route.

Many thanks
Was thinking of just fitting MPE back box only with chrome tips for £1020 fitted at my local dealer, Was wanting more bangs and pops from the car but as I said before it was just for my pleasure, When I drive the car as my wife uses it as her daily, As some replies have stated it is a lot of money just for a back box: And when thinking more about it I am now thinking of going down the route of Paul the Exhaust Man to modify the original exhaust at £200/£250 rather than buy MPE or MPPSK. |

I have MPE only. Car is brand new so haven't pushed it past 5k rpm but coming from a stock M235i, MPE is much more satisfying.
I am considering a Midpipe as well.

You can also have a weld exhaust shop do the res delete which is basically the same thing for around 200. I'm probably doing the midpipe route, this way upon lease return I just swap it back to stock and sell the midpipe. I'm going AWE midpipe
