These numbers are the right for your car.
This ecu can be used in various BMW car series from 1-7.

The only solution i now think is to flash the TRSVC.
Then the ecu gets a new software and all data should be erased.

I never flashed the ECU unit before, is there a guide how to?

Calibration needed?

I have successfully retrofitted the backup camera on my 2013 F30.

Do you all see that much of the bumper?

Is this picture from your car?
Because, from my car it looks very different.

Taken from my car yesterday. Wanted to know if a calibration was needed. So I guess not.

I have also retrofitted an NBT EVO headunit. Very pleased with it.

agilbert314 ,

That looks about right. FYI, I have found seeing the flat part of rear bumper to be quite handy; when I pull through a parking space and park hood out, I tap car into reverse and go back a little and then forward until I see the white parking line disappear under bumper

Hope that helps

I've retrofitted the reverse camera yesterday. All things considered I must say it was quite doable. I've gathered pieces of information from this topic to make the best preparations, but at the coding stage I have some questions. First let me explain what I did to install.

I have a 2012 (april build) F30 with CIC HU. I followed the instructions from Roxxor. I've installed the TRSVC in the boot above the battery and connected the camera. Then I ran the cable from the TRSVC to the CIC HU MOST connector. Along the way I connected the green power wire to the rear fuse box and the ground wire behind the rear seat on the ground distribution block. The ground from the camera I mounted on the ground distribution block near the battery.

Disconnected the MOST connector, remove the blue locking clip and inserted the following pins: YELLOW (I don't have red in the cable) PIN #18, Shield PIN #27 and White PIN #28.

The CAN wires I connected to the iDrive controller.

All done with the physical portion.

CODING

I coded VO 3AG (followed instructions). The TRSVC ECU showed up, added CAFD "file" and code. I coded ECU TRSVC, CIC and REM.

When I put the car in reverse I get the icons on the left but can't select them and the default PDC screen and the car on the right side.

So something isn't working as it should. The things that I can try are:

- Rewire the MOST connector to the pin-out of NBT?
- Rewire the CAN connection to passenger area?
- Measure power and grounds with multi-meter.
- Do I need to code different ECU? Some mention ICM?

If someone wants to chime in that would be great!

From where have you got the Retrofit wiring harness?
The wire to Pin #18 is definitely RED in Original and for the retrofit.
But the color doesn't matter if the wire routes to the right pin at the TRSVC.

Because you see the TRSVC in E-Sys this wiring should be right.

I would check if the yellow wire routes to Pin 2 of the TRSVC.

Will check the wiring.

I've got the harness from Ebay (item).

So I did check the wiring on pinout and everything seems to be in order. I measured with multi meter and got 14V on the power wire to the TRSVC. Then I measured voltage through HSD cable and got around 12-13V to camera.

Edit: Hookup up ISTA/Rheingold and I learnd the TRSVC module to the car. Rheingold produced picture below, which corresponds with picture above.

Guessing everything is in order I did a recoding of the REM ecu. After this, the camera options are working, but no image and the message camera is malfunctioning is displayed(screenshot is in Dutch).

What I'm going to do next is reset the code with Rheingold.... or is there something else I should check?

Edit:
Deleted all fault codes but this leaves me with the below ones. This suggest that there is no video connection from camera.

Can this be the difference in CIC/NBT pinout? Shoud I change to NBT pinout?
Or maybe is the HSD cable not correctly wired? Where can I find a pinout?

BREAK

I've located the problem, I think. The white wire pin 27 was broken in the MOST connector. So the pin broke in half. It was a PITA to get the broken pin out but I managed.

Maybe this also created a short because fuse F10 (FEM) was faulty so basically nothing worked. After fixing the fuse, things started working again. I noticed that the 4 pin connector on the back of the radio facia was also split open and exposed pins and the connector was partly molten . Maybe this is what the short created in the first place.

So I went to the BMW dealer and got myself a new 4pin connector and 2 pigtails for the MOST.

After connecting everything connected it to Rheingold and deleted all the fault codes! And we have a partial result! the TRSVC faults are all gone!
But the camera still won't give an image and show fault on kombi. So my bet is the camera is broken. Will contact the ebay seller.. hope I get a refund or other camera. Will post an update when all is hopefully working!

Lastly I checked the wiring from camera to TRSVC. Everything is correct, see picture below, also accoring to HSD standard.

I did some research about the wiring and pinout of the reverse camera. Maybe someone else find it useful for troubleshooting.

It's been fun discussing with myself, but I've fixed the issue
  1. VO CODE 3AG
  2. CODE TRSVC (If needed, first add CAF (E-sys) and if necessary learn module to car (Rheingold/ISTA))
  3. CODE HU_CIC/NBT
  4. CODE REM
  5. CODE FEM_BODY
  6. CODE ICM
  7. FDL CODE HU_CIC/NBT > MACRO_TRAILER_COUPLING to aktiv for Zoom Function.

The problem I've had was that I didn't code ICM. This because there isn't any mention of it in this topic, or I missed it.

Hi,

i am looking for a reverse camera with NTSC 4.43 because bmw needs that tv standard for the NBT, if you directly install the camera to the head unit without the trsvc module.

But i can not find a NTSC 4.43 reverse camera. But the current NTSC 3.58 camera the picture is black and white.

Do someone know where to find a reverse camera with NTSC 4.43?

Thank you. smile

best wishes

Hi, any idea where to connect the 2 remaining green and orange wire for 2013 X3 with NBT High. I am getting a bit confused with the whether to follow the f10 or f30 instructions.
Thanks

You mean a wire with color orange/green or a wire with orange and another wire with green color?
Here you have the installation instructions for X3 F25 in german.
Maybe that helps to understand.

I believe you are referring to the KCAN lines. You can connect them to the FEM module (right side passenger footwell I believe).

Found the actual wiring for the camera. And the wires are correct that you get from eBay. I have got the camera coded. The camera is still not working and the only difference in the wiring is the fuse wire which I have taken to the back instead of the front and the ground wires which I have screwed on the rear left bracket which does supply negative ground as the trsvc module can be read on ista. So I am guessing I just will need check the ground wires again. On a different note while doing this my both my keys have stopped working. [IMG][/IMG] Has anyone got any ideas why this happened. Is the wiring in the back causing interference with the door locks. My window lock button for the rear passenger is also lit all the time and I cannot turn it off. The does start and the physical opens the doors.
