"Fleet vehicle"
Ever since picking up our most recent BMW's* we've had nothing but trouble with ConnectedDrive. There are several examples, including being unable to add each other's cars to our accounts, not getting map updates, etc. We get error messages that things are not possible due to "the vehicle type".
Much back-and-forth with online support (ConnectedDrive and BMW Genius) eventually determined that our cars are in their system as "fleet" vehicles. They said the only way this could be changed was by our client advisor. I spent over 4 hours at the dealer with her on the phone with various places at BMW and online the entire time, with one of the dealer's Geniuses present. She was never able to find anyone or anything that would help. This may sound like a small problem, but it was going to cost us real money since BMW CCA denied our rebate application because the rebates don't apply to fleet vehicles! Any ideas? *2017 X3 and M4, but this forum is busier

I'm a physician. My employer's discount plan is "Honey, I think I'm going to get an M4".

Are you by chance a member of the BMW CCA? If so you might consider contacting their Ombudsman. If you are not a member you might consider joining, at the very least the Roundel magazine will make an interesting addition to your waiting room.

I've been a member since 1984. I can't imagine driving a BMW and not being a member. In fact, during a couple of years when we lost all sense and I drove a Mercedes and my wife drove a Jeep, we maintained our BMW CCA membership despite having no BMW at all. If one has, or is even interested in, BMW's, then being a member of BMW CCA is really a no-brainer. The Roundel is the best car magazine being published, and club activities are great. I've saved several thousand dollars over the years due to the rebate, which overall means I've made a significant profit by paying membership fees. My patients don't need to know what I drive (though the Smurf Blue M4 convertible outside is often correctly attributed to me, it's more stealthy than my bright orange and bright yellow Z4's were). My former colleague used to leave his yacht porn in the waiting room, which led a lot of people to believe we were probably overpaid.

Jeez ... not sure what I was smokin to have missed your BMW CCA statement. In any event glad you have the Ombudsman working on it and hope you get a good resolution soon. I'm sure you've probably already done this but ... if the CA was unable to help talk to Sales manager or GM. Go up the ladder with BMW NA if you can as well. Wish I could offer a usefull suggestion but I'm out of idea's. Subscribed to thread and hopeful you get a good outcome. Good Luck!

Did you call BMWNA customer support? 1-800-831-1117 Would think they could answer...and know more than the product specialist "Genius" team. |

This happened to me with my new car. Call your client adcisor and tell him that you need him to fill out the paperwork so you can register your car on connecteddrive.
Its consisered a BMW fleet car until your SA fills out an EDC or whatever it was called |

It's a 'type G' sale. You'll see that on the customer information form for the fleet discount if you're using it. Whether or not that's related to this thread, I really don't know. |
