Coolant Hose Issue - Compounded
Well shit.
So this happened. Coolant vent hose broke. Fortunately it was as I was pulling my car into my garage. Unfortunately on a Friday evening. Got the part from a nearby dealer Saturday (who thankfully had it in stock). Went to replace it and when I tried to pull off the end cap the entire connector ripped out of the other hose. Not really asking for advice; this is way beyond my ability to repair so this $100 fix probably just turned into several hundred, plus the rental car I'll probably need. Everything I've look at always talked about what an easy fix this coolant hose was, so wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this? Now I just get to shrug when the wife get pissed, since I've been telling her since my extended warranty expired last November that I really should trade this one in for a new car. Although somehow it's always my fault since I bought this "shitty car with nothing but problems." /vent over |

Agreed! Plastic and heat cycles= brittle. Nature of the beast. That hose is easy to replace. Top off anti-freeze and perform the Coolant self-bleeding procedure: https://blog.fcpeuro.com/how-to-use-...ding-procedure
