Nelson@BimmerTech I have the 6WB cluster. Would this update would wipe out that coding on the cluster? If so, how much to get the cluster recoded after this update?

I'm having too many issues with my Pixel 2 and Bluetooth connections ATM so it might be worth the "cost of admission".

I did the update the other night. Took 3 minutes. I don't have the SWB cluster but I have a couple things coded in mine such as the M Performance logo greeting etc. None of that changed. I beleive it only updates the iDrive software. I haven't noticed anything "new" either.

A few problems.
1) Cant read my text messages on idrive anymore
2) Issues with streaming over USB - will work then randomly stop working and wont reconnect even though its charging fine. Frequently displays "you can only use one device at a time" - or something similar on the phone
3) Wont connect over bluetooth to stream music randomly even though the phone is connected fine.

And unfortunately, all three issues persist even after the update. Its possible that the update was in anticipation of a new IOS release..

Thanks Wilbur_the_goose. Indeed, seems like the BMW website prefers IE or in my case Edge better than Chrome.

Format USB to FAT32 and drop the BIN file on the root of the drive. Plug in car then settings>software update>update software.

Unpaired and re paired my phone just in case but too early to see if I can notice any improvements or fixes.

I have enhanced Bluetooth coded to my headunit. I presume any update will remove this. I do have BMW apps, but find that it rarely connects to my iPhone. The car sees the iPhone as an external device and I can play music from it, but it does not see the app functionality. I would be temped to update the headunit to see does this help with this, but don't wan to lose EBT.

Why would it change EBT?

EBT isn't standard on my head unit, so just asking in case it defaults the headunit back to factory spec. I have read different reports on whether it would remove this coding.

EBT remained after update. No improvement noticed at all. My BMW online widget still not working

Just checked and UPD05081 is available. Currently running UPD05074 which I loaded before I did some coding. Will I lose any of my coding by flashing this update?

I have EBT coded also, don't want to lose this or Connected Office.

I didn’t lose any coding but it does reset the nav, media and telephone system so you lose any changes like equaliser settings which is a tad annoying as I had not written them down.
