Text messages on iDrive?

Hey guys - I have a '15 328 with the NBT iDrive (not Evo)

My wifes '15 X1 M Sport shows text messages. I know its not super awesome, but I'd like that feature.

Is it something I missing in iDrive? Do I need to code it? Do I need to pay for it?

Vo code nbt with 6ns.

Also make sure "show notifications" are ON in your settings (if you're on an iPhone). Can be found in Settings>Bluetooth>Hit the I near your BMW entry>Turn Show Notifications ON.

This used to work in my car prior to Iphone XS but hasnt worked since. Would love to have it back

Thanks guys - anyone know if Bimmercode can do EBT/6NS coding? I have to pick up an ENET cable but have Bimmercode.

Also, will everything work properly w/ 6NS even though I don't have USB ports in gbox, etc.?

Would love to know if one can read text messages on a non navigation NBT type set up. Any idea if this is possible? Or do you need additional equipment..
