Help with coding

Has anyone successfully coded flashing brake lights? I've been struggling with this for a week now. Followed steps from thic30 on YouTube but still won't flash for me. Wondering if our f34 are different than f30.

What you mean flashing brake lights? They will flash depending on the break force used, so you will have to be going pretty fast and then quick break (not emergency, well will work on emergency braking but it will work for hard braking too)

first it will turn red as normal breaking then will start flashing. In bimmercode you can set force used for flashing brake lights.

The only way to know if they're flashing is if you're following yourself watching your brake lights while driving at a high enough speed to allow you to apply enough braking force to get them to flash.

I have coded brake force using BimmerCode. Speed is set at 5 km/h so I didn't have to go too fast and brakeforce is set to weak so I don't have to be jamming on the brakes as in 911 braking. Did test runs with someone filming and no, zero, flashing whatsoever.

I coded mine too, but i was unable to verify if it actually worked. ThicF30 was able to test his with minimal braking.....

Been reading every article I can find on this and noticed that in 1 post someone deactivated it and then deactivated it again and it worked for him. Will try that next.

I know this is an option on my car because it was an option to code in BimmerCode. What I mean is - if it wasn't an option, it would not show up.

Try Front Electronic Module -> Brake force display: Set to Flashing. Then in Activation Speed set to 5k/h and Brake Force Display Activation Brake Force: Weak

After coding go to Rear Electronic Module set your Brake force display flashing frequency 3 or 5.

After that select Expert (still in REM) and check Lce LampMapping1 if mapping_breakforce_L_output is set to bl_l and same for mapping_breakforce_R_output is set to bl_r

PS: It’s called brake FORCE display, not brake SOFT display. Unless you use it for some video not sure why someone would code it, buy hey each to their own

I tried it awhile ago and never got it to work on my f34. Did all the coding via bimmercode. All other coding is successful with using bimmercode but brake force display 😂

Oh well not a big deal to me. Hope someone can figure it out one day lol

Yes BimmerCode has it as brakeforced. I used BimmerCode to deactivate it and then reactivated again yesterday. Did several runs with a friend watching and it only flashed 1 time out of 5 runs. Weird. Not a critical coding item so I hereby give up. Lol
