Has anyone had someone "professionally" install a set of the m performance side skirt decals?(the ones shown below). I want to have the black vinyl put on my 340i (not the m performance sticker though) and I know it's just a decal but chances are I'll manage to do it incorrectly and I was wondering if anyone had this done and what it cost them to have done? Most small stuff like this I don't mind but after I wrapped most of my interior pieces I realized my max effort is still subpar compared to what I'd like and I really want the black to help keep from just destroying my paint when I go on dirt roads. Thanks in advance all!

Smart to get it professionally done. I have wasted money ordering decals from diff vendors and still dont have it done properly. I finally caved and went to a pro to get it done. They charged me 150 per side for vinyl and install. I am in Toronto so Cad dollars.
so im guessing 250 would be a good median

Did they just cut their own vinyl or did they use the BMW one?

Cut their own. I think the factory decal is already more than that price alone without install

the OEM ones are very thick, durable decals with semi gloss, almost a matt finish and "Performance" already printed on it. Can't recommend aftermarket ones, they are totally different. I have done the installation myself and it took me about 1.5h per side. Same process than windows tinting, very simple but time consuming. There are lots of videos on youtube.

I'm thinking of getting some fitted to mine, Inquired at BMW and it's £192 for parts and fitting. They did say they needed the car for 2 days though. Probably to let it cure properly. Will definitely get it done there when I can be without it for 2 days.

I just purchased the OEM ones to replace mine (current are also OEM but they're in terrible shape from the previous owner). I've been trying to figure out, is the OEM decal Vinyl, or traditional type of "sticker"?

my guess is Vinyl but don't know. it's kinda flexible as you can use a heat gun to finish it off. Makes corners smooth and helps to remove the remaining "dishwashing" liquid that is recommended for installation.

Can anyone recommend any places in Dorset to fit these? Managed to get a set off of a BMW dealership on Ebay for £50 but so far been quoted £150 + Vat to fit which is way more than I thought it would be.

Spray bottle, water and squeegee. Heat gun and a sharp blade comes in handy when you need to trim off any excess at the end and the heat gun to to warm the film up until pliable to stretch in at the corner of the skirt and to cure the edges of you need to drive the car

I just bought some vinyl cut to the right shape on eBay .
Tried doing it myself and it came out fine . Just spray the area with soap and water and take your time pushing the bubbles out . If at any point there's a bubble stuck just peel back to that area and start again .

I used the Mrs hair dryer on the more curved bits of the f32 and really helps to mould to the shape . Also a lot easier with 2 people if you can get a helping hand . I just did it by eye on one side and then took a couple of measurements to make sure I did the other side the same

I went gloss black and that was the reason I didn't buy OEM

For some reason it won't let me attach photo, but just posted about it with photo
