Air intake duct

The air intake duct was rattly and dealer used some felt tape to stop this. It isn't airtight though. Should this be airtight. Would it being airtight (if i used a heat resistant sealant for eg) improve the performance? Or should I leave it as it is(not airtight but looks ok held by clamps and felt tape etc).

It wasn't air tire before the felt was added. It's not supposed to be. Don't sweat it.

Air tight is also water tight, probably not a good idea.
