Later model year F30s received additional bracing in the footwell area to improve crash safety. I found these brackets fairly inexpensively on ebay and decided to try to retrofit them. See my how to attached.

If I had a welder and skills in that area I would have liked to do this with welded in flange nuts but rivnuts were a simpler compromise. Is this as strong as factory install?...no, but it's better than nothing for sure.
