Hi
If i download both sections, west + east, would both load into the iDrive? Or i have to select only one section? I would like to have both installed on my iDrive, as i travel both east and west Europe.

Why do you think are there East and West?
The map was cut into East and West because it would no longer fit completely on the hard drive. So only one of the two maps fits on the hard drive.

as i said i need a map version that covers both east and west.
i have read the descriptions for those 2 pieces, and as example i travel in Romania, my home land, and i live in Austria. austria is on west piece, and romania on east piece. if i load only west, for romania i will only have like highways and a few big roads, as described.
than which is the latest version that covers all europe? something newwr as 2014, my actuall maps.

as it turns out, for what i need the east part is just perfect
i need Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. these are in both sections as full details. than i choose east side as it contains Romania as well.

The maps from 2019 should be the latest without cut.
But they will probably no longer be easy to find.
You could also load the west map and if you drive to romania load the east map.
If you later come back to Austria you can again load the west map.
The FSC is the same for both maps.

It is solved! I have read the details about maps, west and east! It looks like Germany, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland and a few more countries are as full covered in both sections. Than i have installed today the east pack.

Seen a number of posts about map upgrade USB sticks being seen as media files.

Some BMW versions have two USB sockets, one for media updates/media files and another "hidden" socket for map upgrades.

If you plug a properly formatted map USB stick in and it is recognised as media then start looking for another USB socket. Most likely location is in the glove box, possibly on the top of the glove box so have a good look with a torch.

I anyone knows of other locations for the second USB port then please add them.
