I have my 440 coming soon with the mppsk port installed. How can I confirm that the mppsk was installed and installed properly?

As someone who had MPPK installed on my current '14 335xi and currently part of my pending '17 340i ordered car, I'll take their word for it. And if there's an issue, it gets fixed under warranty. How do I know the sunroof was installed correctly?

In all seriousness, the port facility is an impressive operation. They are equipped to do many things and do them to the same standards as the factories. Don't worry about it.

Have rep look at your build sheet and double check for build code Z11

As for install properly, you should have zero worries

Checking for the new exhaust is easy.. its the tune thats probably a bit tougher..
If they flashed it I would think it would show up in coding..
Maybe check esys coding to see if its in the Vehicle Order(FA) or elsewhere?

I checked the build sheet (just so happens I had a screenshot of it for a different reason). Z11 and the tips were there...

Do I get some package, ANYTHING? that says yep, this was installed??? I heard some get an envelope with the serial / license number but wasn't sure if anyone with port installed received it.

it's my first ordered bmw so I guess I am paranoid - I HATE dealing with issues AFTER i have given my money. This is my 6th new BMW - I am very familiar with dealing with BMW after the fact. Believe me if the car isnt perfect I wont take delivery of the car until its made right.

it has a little metal badge on the engine, rocker panel decals and exhaust tips. plus the sound itself is very obvious for the exhaust portion.

mine was port installed, i did not receive any envelope. but it sounds much louder and it is noticeably faster than my other 340i without it.

Could be wrong but because the exhaust flap control changes and tune are part of the same upgrade I feel like the car would throw a ton of fault codes?

Because once port installed it is basically a full factory option, as mentioned above you can tell your dealer you want confirmation the tune has been updated prior to delivery. Should be pretty easy for them to check.

mine had some rattling at idle occasionally, perhaps something tapping heat shield which went away after couple weeks

Yes, you should receive a document when you take delivery. As I recall, it's a one-pager. Also, as you have read here, there will be a tag in the engine bay. As far as the tune goes, another way you can tell is if the iDrive 'Sports Displays' show 400hp/400tq on the dials. This is part of the flash. Keep in mind, all of this was true when I ordered a 335xi with MPPK in 2014. I am assuming this is true for MPPSK in 2017 and will know for sure when my new 340xi arrives in May.

Sorry for the dumb question, but why do the dials show 400/400? I thought the figures with MPPSK were 355hp/355tq with 6MT and 369tq with 8AT. I'm probably missing something but I've seen others reference 400 when they talk MPPSK. Thanks!

It was one of the things BMW touted in their marketing materials back in 2014. It also meant that they had properly installed and coded the engine tune.
