how much better is the new chain and necessary parts?? I plan on buy the parts from fcp euro going to my indy mechanic, to have the work done.. all in under 3k. now with the new parts, am in going to have to replace again at around 80k, or is the new stuff a lot better as far as quality and design.... The whole idea behind a chain vs a rubber band is piece of mind with a chain..

Did you get the Indy to replace the affected parts?

No man, BMW Canada is the worst. I don't get it all. You guys get the recalls and extended warranties and things actually get done.

I believe when I bought my 435 I somehow managed to run my VIN on a usa based site and it showed 3 recalls. Nothing on Canadian one. I can't seem to find that site I originally used. As now it says my VIN isn't correct or something along those lines when I punch it in on USA based sites.

Aggravating

Yeah, BMW Canada kinda sucks .... even our vehicles get less features compared to BMW NA (prime example, being that the Canadian F30 has the extra 12V sockets removed, specifically the one under passenger seat).

I've asked around and could not locate anything specifying that BMW CA has the extended timing chain/guide warranty.
