Exclamation PDU Port Injection Install & tuning build. Lots of pics! UPDATE: 582.49whp/596.66wtq

So I'm one of the early adopters of the new PI kit thats made for the N55, not just a modified N54 PI kit. This kit is made by PDU and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It doesn't have any fancy engraving and stuff but thats useless when you cant even see it anyways lol. The build and materials are extremely high quality, something you would expect from a small shop in the BMW world, unlike a lot of other mass made products (One of the reasons why i love my CG Precision DP and catback so much). So ive decided to take some pics while I'm doing the install, and Ill post more as the install goes along.

This also allows for 100% E85 use!!!

This is the kit that currently holds the WR of 595whp for the N55, so hopefully ill be able to take it for the F30. The injectors are controlled by a Split Second controller, and Terry from BMS is currently developing JB4 integration.

Daniel is also an AWESOME guy to work with. Bad ass customer service, answers questions immediately and is very honest and upfront with you. No beating around the bush and he doesn't sell dreams. He will do what it takes to make sure you are completely satisfied and happy, and also enjoys in your own success with your build. I wish I could have bought every aftermarket part on my car from him lol.

UPDATE 01/09/16:

Removed my meth system since its no longer needed, installed my Fuel-It platinum fuel line kit with E sensor and analyzer, got everything buttoned up and dropped her off to EuroCharged last week, she's funning full E85.

heres a sneak peak of the power shes producing with just the JB4 and PI (no jb4 integration just yet) and the stock DME tune

Now theyre going to work on the BEF to adjust timing and AFR's, along with some other options like cold start delete.

The Manifold is held down by 5 11mm nuts and 2 11mm bolts. theres also a wire assembly piece on the back side that has to be removed using a torx bit before you can remove the manifold. Also you have to unplug all the harnesses going to the DME, remove the charge pipe from the throttle body and disconnect the vacuum hose going through one of the intake manifold channels and across the top of the motor.

Clean intakes!!!! this is at 35K miles

The intake manifold removed with the DME mounted to the bottom, I actually took it out and brought it to Eurocharged for a new flash.

Double nutting the stud allows you to thread it all the way into the block, a must!

Worst intake manifold design in the world....why create another possible boost leak....

I threw this in here because people have asked me a few times where i mounted my meth solenoid at...well there you have it!

and this is where my JB4 is mounted...its actually supposed to be stuck to the top of the box but I moved it while doing this.

haha anytime!!! lol i wish the lighting was better. The stock flash on my t3i sucks.

They did the initial tune on my car, its having a couple of quirks so I brought them the DME back to get looked at. After I get it back, and get the PI tuned the best I can im going to let them do the BEF finally.

Thanks! Did Enzo take any pics of your intake valves? Were you running meth before? I was interested to see how mine compared to someone else's with 35k~ miles on it with no meth so how much dirtier they were than mine. I know N54's were notorious for gunked up intake valves, seems like the N55 is much cleaner.

Will do

Daughter is probably your age, beyond college 4 1/2 years now. her first car was a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 165K miles and 7K worth of hail damage...looked like a golf ball. Drove it all the way thru college, broke her heart when we traded it in after graduation.

More Fueling since the HPFP is maxed out and TBI wont cover what I need for future upgrades. The PI should push my car into the 600's, if not it will at least smooth things out and allow me to get rid of the throttle cuts and possbile missfires, and gain more power by maxing out the turbo. It also allows for full e85 use so I wont have to mix gas anymore. I also ordered the E85 certified fuel lines from Fuel-it and the E-sensor/ Bluetooth analyzer.

It's not finished yet, it's still sitting in my garage all apart lol I'm working night shift 6 days in a row so I don't touch it when I have to work. Should be finished up on Tuesday or so.

But I have traction issues without it lol so I couldn't imagine what it's going to be like with it.

Cant wait for the results Nate!

One of the great things about a JB4 is setting boost limits per gear, up to 3rd. I used to have only 1st and 2nd set but after bumping power up I needed to set 3rd also, and even then breaking traction in 4th gear happens depending on the situation.

Yes, batch firing.

You the man, 100% e85! How are using the JB4 on top of the flash tune? What are the benefits there?

The flash adjusts the timing, afr's and other things the JB4 can't adjust. In turn it makes the jb4 more effective/efficient. That's how I was able to hit 560whp on 93 pump and meth with the PS2.

I might have to try a jb4 on top of my GSR tune then.

Did you ever try the Fuel it throttle body injection? I know know you are doing port...

What do you think of the doing a fuel-it stg2 LPFP and their throttle body injection kit? How much ethanol and power do you think it would make?

I was thinking about doing that here shortly then upgrade to the Pure Stg2

Also do you have your new port injection kit on yet?

Be careful with that, mine was dyno'ed about 30 times while the tune was developed, it was intended to work with the jb4. (I would try if I were you though lol)

Nope, it doesn't support enough HP so it wasn't ever an option for me, even the PS2 is just temporary until a stage 3 comes out.

Stg2 LPFP and TBI will allow you to run higher E mixes, with more available HP than just meth but it has its limits. If I wasn't going past the PS2, then the TBI would be an almost perfect option although it does leave some HP on the table compared to PI. But currently the PI is only $1550, so it's pretty much worth it even for just the PS2 and for 100% E85 purposes and the extra power. When it gets back to the normal price of $2100 is when it's not so beneficial budget wise if you don't plan on pushing the car hard and going past the PS2. (Although I would still get it regardless for the E85 purposes. It'll pay for itself compared to paying for 93 supreme)

And nope, it's still half way done. I work 12 hr shifts, and I worked the past 5 nights and I'm working tonight. I'm off mon and tues so that's when I plan on finishing her up.
