Anyone know if the gentleman function can be activated/ or has activated it on the F30? Apparently it's a F01 type of thing only.

Another thing. For coding the easy entry, EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE gives me these 2 options: "Modus_FA" & "Modus_BF" not "Modus_FA_SLV ". Tried the "Modus_FA" and nothing happened. I have EasyEntry options listed though. "EASY_ENTRY", "EASY_ENTRY_TTB" & "EASY_ENTRY_BEI_TUER_HINTEN_AUF". Anyone know if these will get it working?

Edit: EASY_ENTRY_BEI_TUER_HINTEN_AUF translates into EASY ENTRY FOR REAR DOOR OPEN. Given the car is an F32, I hope fellow F30 owners try this out, could be a cool feature.

EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE works fine on my F82, but you need to set it to "Modus_FA_SLV". The downside of this is that the driver seat will move back if you open the driver side door OR the passenger side door, but it will only move forward to the original position if you close the driver side door.

Setting EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE to "Modus_FA" did not work for me either.

It should be the same on your F32.

I don't have the Modus_FA_SLV listed as an option. Do I have to manually adjust the werte value or is something missing in my car (Different Equipment, Different options...)

It might depend on the firmware version of your ECU. My CAFD for the driver side seat is CAFD_00000B5_012_004_015. In any case, Modus_FA_SLV is Werte=03.

Will try that out tomorrow, hopefully it'll work.

Ahh, bummer. I'm guessing they added parameters above those codes, shifting their placement. Well, if that's the case, that makes the 54.1 psdzdata descriptions slowly becoming obsolete as we inject the information into the new versions...

I've got 3 problems.

1) HU_NBT 3000 VOLUME_POPUP_DISPLAY aktiv (Show volume level on screen when adjusting)
I activated the volume. And it does not appear at all in idrive. The bar does not appear. It has something to activate the most?

2) HU_NBT 3003 CE_DEVICE_SPEECH_RECONGNITION aktiv (Activates Siri Eyes-Free Button (Hold down voice recognition button)
I enable this option. But already "aktiv". I tried to turn and fails. The error "could not be activated vocal system" something like that, when hold down voice recognition button.

3) FEM_BODY 3060 BLINKZYKLEN_ANZAHL_TIPP werte = 04 werte (the triple blinker blinks to any amount.)
That never seen. This option does not appear in the FEM_BODY. I can not change because it is invisible.

The car is a 328 13/14. I do not know what I step. For I am helping a friend. Any suggestion?

Modus_FA is for LBV (backrest width/sidebolster adjustment) of driver seat while Modus_FA_SLV is for both LBV and SLV (longitudinal seat position adjustment) of the driver seat. The option of Modus_FA_SLV is available only for the firmware using the SM ECU CAFD version of 12 and above i.e. 000000B5_012_xxx_xxx. The feature also needs two more function parameters: SM 3012 EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS and SM 3012 EAH_SHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS which are not presented in the old versions of CAFD either.

The production date of the car determines the firmware versions of its ECUs. Updating with higher I-level doesn't necessarily update all ECU's firmware. My car has the very recently updated firmware with the current I-level of F020-2015-07-502. But the firmware of its SM ECU is still old as it uses the same version of CAFD it used two years old.

My question is -- Is it possible to flashing only one ECU (in this case SM) without changing others?

I just did this without issues for KOMBI, which seems a more critical ECU than SM.

Thanks for the info. I guess there may be some version dependency requirements among ECUs?

Did your car's I-Level change after updating KOMBI?

Yes, there are dependencies (which were ignored). I assume the I-Level did not change (but I have not checked to be sure).

All the details are here if you are interested: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=55

Thanks for the link. It looks feasible although I am wondering if the charger is really needed for flashing just one ECU.

Hard to say, and probably flashing SM takes even less time than flashing KOMBI. But why take the chance and risk corrupting your car's firmware if there is a voltage drop?

If you do not have a charger, you can use another car's battery as an external power source and keep the motor running on that car.

How long did it take to flash KOMBI? I have only a small (15Ah?) car emergency powerpack which may be fine if flashing takes no more than 15 mins.

I just realized that I may need more tricks than simply flashing SM ECU as the new firmware that uses desired (or easy-entry codeable) CADF may not be available for flashing the car with its original production date regardless of its I-Level. I may have to change Zeitkriterium in FA. But how can I find the earliest production date from which the specific version of SM ECU CAFD is used by the firmware? Is there some existing documentation that describes the relationship among Zeitkriterium, I-level, cafd and swfl (and btld?)?

The way I did it (executing the TAL without checking the cdDeploy checkbox), executing the TAL for flashing KOMBI took only 7.5 minutes. You can create the TAL beforehand.

Others will know more about this, but since you are not modifying the options in your FA/VO, I do not think you need to change the Zeitkriterium: after all, the KOMBI software and CAFD I used for flashing my car are newer than the Zeitkriterium in my FA.

My car already has the very recent I-level F020-2015-07-502. But the SM ECU still has the old firmware SWFL_00000CDD_001_007_000 and old coding data CAFD_000000B5_010_004_002 which doesn't have the necessary function parameters for coding the feature of easy entry with sliding seat. If I don't change Zeitkriterium, I will flash the SM ECU with the same old firmware as there is no newer SM ECU firmware for the car with its production date. So by changing Zeitkriterium with a later production date, I will be able to flashing the SM ECU with a newer version firmware associated newer CAFD 000000B5_012_xxx_xxx that has those function parameters I am looking for.

Update: I found that SM ECU module part number was changed on 7/2013. So flashing my old ECU with new firmware is not possible ;-( In other words, the Easy Entry feature is not possible by flashing/coding for F30 produced before 7/2013

Halsifier,

Thanks to SquidlyBoy's post elsewhere on this forum, Easy Access now works on my 2014 F30:

2014 F30 328i m-sport (production date: 08/19/2013) - for me, I just changed these 3:

FDL Coding:
SM2 -> 3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
SM2 -> 3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 28
SM2-> 3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 3C

Note: this last value (EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS) could unintentionally disable this feature if your seat encroaches within this many mm from the rear end of the rail. Some suspect this is a safety thing to protect the knees of your passenger in the rear seat. By default this value is 0x64 (100mm). If this feature doesn't work, change this value to something smaller like i did - e.g. 0x3c (60mm) - it allows your seat to go back further and still keep this cool feature

iDrive:
- under Settings ->Doors/lock: "Last seat position automatic" box is checked

New Behavior:
Turn off the engine and open the door: Seat automatically slides back a few inches, allowing easy exit
Turn on engine : Seat automatically slides forward a few inches, getting your seat into driver's position

It works like a champ on my 2014 F30 328i as well!

Confirmed that F34 Active Spoiler retraction speed can be coded.

HU_NBT -> 3100 -> V_ASP_IN

Again this value needs to be converted to hex to work. The default is 46 hex which converts to 70 kmph. If you want it to be 88 kmph that would convert to a hex value of 58.

Cool, I'll add in those extra values next update, thanks!

However, I do not recommend people to set "Last seat position automatic" to be enabled with this feature. Reason being because it would sometimes not return to driver stored position. For example, if you had the door opened and started the vehicle, then turned off the vehicle before the seat moved up to Driving Position, it will remember that Easy Entry Position as the new stored driving position. So when you get back in your vehicle, it will not move the seat forward until you push and hold the stored memory button, because you turned off the vehicle before the seat moved forward.

So with "Last seat position automatic" disabled, it will always return to the Stored Position in the seat memory.
