Sun Visor Warning Sticker Removal DIY

Few words, lots of pics.

You can probably skip this step:

Untitled by jkush111, on Flickr

You need these 2 items. Micro fiber and rubbing alcohol.

Untitled by jkush111, on Flickr

Rub the sticker with an alcohol soaked microfiber.

Untitled by jkush111, on Flickr

Wipe clean with a cloth and warm water.

How do you remove the visors from the car in the first place?

Do the warnings come off pretty easily?

wow! thank you for this! I hate the fact that the ugly warning stickers show when the visors are flipped down. I almost wanted to repaint them black. This is even easier!

Yes, they almost melt away. Keep the sticker moist.

The slightest difference in sheen. Overall, WAY better than the sticker.

Hmm. Even after reading that thread I can't figure out where I'm supposed to pry on the cover or how I'm supposed to get a pry tool under it without damaging the headliner.

Anyone know of a better how-to?

Great mod but I know with my crazy OCD nature the difference in sheen will drive me crazier than having those ugly sticker on the sun visor. Knowing me, I will eventually probably buy the blank sun visors for $300! Sucka!

I'm right there with you, but I figure it's worth a shot to see if the difference really is noticeable when the visors are installed or if it will blend in over time. I can always buy the Euro visors later.

You won't even notice the 3% difference in sheen when it's mounted and not being lit directly. Think about the orientation of the visor in it's normal position.

The difference in sheen is a non-issue. This is coming from the guy who lines up his wheel locks with the valve stem.

I'm not even sure what that means, and I'm still impressed!

HA HA HA. We can have a whole separate thread on the crazy OCD things we do. Speaking of wheels, I make sure the center cap is oriented in relation to the valve stem the same on all wheels. I even screw down the valve stem cover so that its positioned the same (in the case where it has some sort of logo on it). Thats just some minor examples of my OCDness....

^^^ Those are completely different than US stickers. Your visors are made of a different material too.

Glad it worked anyway.

Unfortunately, I've found that the difference in sheen is pretty noticeable, at least in the right light. I'm going to "step up" from isopropyl alcohol to acetone followed by some sort of protectant/conditioner.

Just in case ... anyone have a U.S. source for warning-free F3x visors? (iND only has them for F8x.)

Damn man...my wallet just just screamed in pain! I kind of had a feeling my OCD nature would not be able to deal with the difference in sheen. Heck when removing my stock grilles I chipped off a tiny bit of paint in an area that is behind the grille but just knowing its there drives me nuts!
