TPMS malfunction from 2014 F32 wheels mounted on 2015 F36
I got around to mounting 442M wheels from a 2014 F32 4 series coupe on my 2015 F36 Gran Coupe. I tried resetting the TPMS but got a TPMS Malfunction. Is there any sort of compatibility issues either from 2014 to 2015 or from an F32 to F36? I highly doubt it but thought I would ask.

I just read this on another site
"i believe the cutoff was march of 2014. cars (and their wheels) produced after that date have different sensors than the ones before that date and they are not compatible" The build date of the F32 I got the wheels from is 10/13 and my build date is 11/14. Looks like I am SOL???? |

Yup - BMW swapped out the sensors, probably the issue.
However, I wouldn't mind buying the sensors off you if you plan on selling them

Again. You can reference your TPMS. Or our TPMS f36 post 3/14 build date. By asking for VDO

Uggh... This thread is killing me. I just bought 4 397 wheels from ebay for my winter rims for my F30 with TPMS.
I guess I'll need to buy 4 new Tire Pressure Monitors..

BTW, so you know for sure the wheels you bought have TPMS that was manufactured prior to spring 2014? When was your car produced? |

I wonder when they'll switch out all cars to an ABS type TPMS as that's how my car works and don't have to worry about sensor swaps.

Unless you're talking about a different car than whats in your profile, you are mistaken. No F3Xs work like that. If they did they wouldn't be able to tell the pressure or temperature, which all can do. They all have the sensor on the valve stem.

I think you may have missed the point. My car and other F3x vehicles use the ABS module here.
I put my summers on without a sensor and all was fine. Put my winters on without a sensor and all was fine. Got a nail in my winters and TPMS warning occurred. Does it display the exact pressure, no, but it does work.
