Headliner Rattle when Flexing

My 2016 340 xDrive (build 8/15) has really loud and annoying rattles when the car is flexing (such as when coming out of a drive way or even some uneven bumps). It sounds like it's coming from the rear drivers side headliner. Does anyone else have this and if so have you found a solution? Normally I have the radio on so i don't hear it, but recently drove without the radio on and it's quite bothering especially for a new car with less than 2k miles on it.

Do you hear it when you close the moonroof visor? I ask because we have two F30s in our household and experience something similar coming out of a driveway or certain uneven road surfaces that flex the car. For us, the rattles are more like creaks coming from the moonroof. When the car flexes the seals on the moonroof rub against each other causing his sound, which can sometimes sound like loud rattling.

We've gone to the dealer multiple times for this issue. They've sprayed some sort of thing on it, changed out the seals, and it always just comes back. I've given up and just close the moonroof visor to block out the sound. :/

I read another forum that there is some type of anti-creak tape especially for these seals, though.

Mine sounds like it's coming from the rear of the car (drivers side). My Acura used to have a sunroof rattle so I know what your'e talking about but this is different. It happens when the sunroof is closed with and without the visor closed as well.

Good luck with your fix!

Most likely the rubber door seals rubbing against the trim against which they close. Search for the 3M (or similar Teflon) tape fix threads.

First, try taking it to the dealership - it's a brand-new car with a full warranty. If they can't or won't fix it, then the teflon tape mentioned above is the best resolution.
