I don't have my M4 yet but I have owned a 2013 M3 coupe and 435i GC. For the town tax, each one cost me (roughly) $950. Of course plates will depend on type purchased (i.e. standard, conservation, vanity).

$1600 for 16 months (the remainder of 2015 + all of 2016) when I went back in October. Just got standard plates.
