325i 3.0 N53 Euro spec Exhaust mod?
Hi
I own a 325i 2009 with a N53, an euro spec with stock exhaust. I've read some threads about Performance exhaust but the sound isn't as expected. Are there any other mods (that aren't too expensive) which can add sound or give me better sounding exhaust? I think my exhaust is too quiet for a inline 6 with 272 hp.. I was about to order the PE, but after the threads about the PE I'm not sure anymore. Can I keep my original exhaust, but change the centre exhaust? http://www.supersprint.com/ww-en/bmw...r-port.aspx#!/ What will that affect other than sound? Appreciate all the help I can get Heres the car:

Don't know what you mean by '...sound isn't as expected'. Fitting a PE to my N53 was the best mod I've done - bar none. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with a PE. Go for it!

Thanks for the reply Phil325i.
After some reading on the internet, a lot of forums several threads are about how little of a difference the PE makes. But you have euro spec 325i, and have fitted the PE without any other mods? The US model has a Y split pipe but we don't in the EU. Some of threads leads to replacing the resonator, or mid exhaust section. But a simple replacement of the rear exhaust would be the best. Heres one of the threads that made me rethink the PE http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=872327

Its a 325i with a 3.0 litre engine, and the previous owner installed the 3 stage intake manifold with a 330i remap. So the engine is basically the same. I want to buy bigger brakes, like 330i or 335i.
I'll order the exhaust next month Does it need to burn in? Much noticable difference inside the car? What about the lowend or hiend rpm? |

Nice. I've been considering that 330i mod.
I've heard 500 miles to settle in. Not too loud up to 3K, past that and you're very aware. Still, a completely different tone at low speeds though. Surprisingly loud on cold starts too. You'll find you lower the window and mute the radio when you start up heh. |
