My N26 328i xdrive currently has 48000 miles and soon to expire for factory warranty. I have called 2 local dealers and their pricing for the extended warranty were same. 7 yr 100k Gold for 3720 dollars. And 6 year 100K gold for 3210 dollars. Will the extended warranty be worth it? My car has not had any kind of problems up to date but never had spark plugs changed. I am planning to keep my car for another 2~3 years.

Its a risk either way. I wouldnt do it. $3k can do a lot in repairs.

Think of it this way, can you survive a expensive repair?

If not, it's a good idea to look into to hedge your funds. Most likely you'd pay more for the coverage, but in the end you would get get piece of mind of knowing your car isn't going to hit your wallet with a huge repair bill in the next 3 years/50k miles.

With solid maintances you can prob lower the ammount of major repairs also.

Remember you also have tuneups/fluids/brakes ect. Those aren't wrapped up cost wise in that either.

I'm on the same boat. unsure what to do.

For the price it definitely SEEMS to be worth it provided that if something goes wrong I can part the car, warranty it with no issues.

That last part is a uncertain...I've warranty several Audis suspiciously close to race track without problems. Somehow I feel that won't fly with BMW.

Is this for factory warranty or maintenance? It's like $3k for 7 year or 100k for extended maintenance plan. That's what I'm planning on doing
