Detail?
Guys,
When I took delivery here in Texas, the weather was awful (heavy rain etc.), so I had the dealer hold off on doing a full exterior detail until a nicer day. They did a full clean on the car though, inside and outside. The car just needs a solid detail, but I'm wondering if instead of taking it back to the dealer if I should just have a 3rd party do it? I have a guy who washes and waxes my cars for me and he does full detail work for car shows etc. I trust him, I would just need to pay. So I guess I'm asking, do I have the dealer do it or pay my guy to do it? I'm wondering if there is any advantage to having the dealer do it. |

You know you can trust your guy, but with the dealer you never know. I'm probably the wrong person to ask though - I'm taking mine before they can detail it.

+1. My E46 M3 had always come back from the dealer service dept. in worse condition than when it went in, detailing-wise.
BTW, mantis, not true. Mine is bigger.

Never, and I mean NEVER let the deailership detail your car when you take it in for service. It becomes quite complex why, but basically they use shitty products with even worse applacation.
