After a wonderful 3 years with my F32 420D, time for a switch up and just 2 days to go till I pick up my new car, 440i Gran Coupe. Will post some pics on Wednesday.
Agonized over 340i vs 440i GC but in the end the GC won because I just love the way the 4 series looks and drives and simply needed 2 extra doors. Nice build, congrats!
Looking forward to get your feedback about the 40i vs 20d engine. When is the car scheduled to be delivered? If it is still time to get the run flats replaced by better tires, i.e. Michelin PSS, go ahead!

Thanks, delivery is Weds Nov 30 so share some early feedback then. I didn't replace the tires in my old 20d but will look into the Michelin's - thanks for the recommendation.

One word - amazing! Really pleased with this ride and the kids love the extra doors compared to my old 420d coupe. Cold start noise even on stock exhaust just makes you wanna go drive somewhere and puts a smile on your face in the morning.
Keeping under 4500rpm for first 1k miles but have ventured over a couple of times and the car just keeps going. For my driving style feel better in this than the 3 series I test drove. Will upload some more pics later.

F36 440i - 4 months later
Remarkable 4 months and driving this silent beast has been a dream. Broke the 3,000 mile barrier so now able to explore what this machine can really do.
Insane power, response time and great handling. And when the kids jump in toggle down to eco or comfort and it drives like a 320i. Zero complaints so far and very pleased with the practicability of 5 doors and the insane sleeper performance of the 40i engine. Still debating subtle mods including sports exhaust and slight drop to give it a sleeker profile on the road.

Thankfully everyone in all three cars walked away to live another day. Just grateful to the engineers, designers and everyone at BMW for building such a safe machine.
Took a major hit then thrown into another car before off the curb into the trees. Narrow escape from that lamp post but air bags deployed and SOS folks immediately called and got paramedics on scene. Also eternally grateful to all the strangers who helped especially the gentleman behind me who stopped, pulled me out and stayed till I was taken away. It's reassuring to see such selflessness these days and I will always remember you all for your compassion and kindness. End of day it's just metal but it saved my life this weekend and am forever indebted to everyone who helped create and build it.
