Sport+ uses Dynamic Traction Control mode, which is the same as pressing the DTC button once, and different from holding the button down for a few seconds.

I'm glad someone posted this - quick question. So I have a 2013 328 and it only has Eco / comfort / sport. It obviously drives more aggressive in sport but can I get better performance with playing with the traction control? When I push the traction button down it take me out of Sport. I "think" it stays in sport if I hold down the tracking button and at the same time set it to sport. However it may be just me but I feel like once I do that it doesn't drive as aggressive as in the standard sport mode.
Does that make sense?

time to post this again:
DVC put this together (originally posted at http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=68): I've tested the different combinations and found the transmission and chassis info correct.

Playing with switching it fully off vs one button push at the PCD. I was able to run quicker with it left at one button push. Did a nice 10 cone wipe out into the grass with the system fully disengaged (hold button it for 10 seconds) on a very tight 45 degree right hand turn that I was nailing with the system engaged at the first button push. We were also able to drift on the wet skid pad with a single push. Think for a non-pro driver not switching the system fully off will give you all the fun you can want. I usually drive Sport on the street but go to Sport+ if a traffic light grand prix comes up.

In my opinion, no. On the track, its good to practice smooth throttle modulation. The highly sensitive DBW programming in Sport+ is fun on the street, but could easily mess you up when at the limit on a track. A single press of the DTC button gets you more freedom from the nannies without turning them off altogether, the heavier steering, and I think in cars with adaptive shocks sets them to their more stiff behavior although my car doesn't have those so I can't confirm.

I personally prefer dsc off but it's best to try each out on a clear safe environment and see which you prefer. But I too prefer the normal throttle for technical driving. The sensitive throttle is too twitchy for me in those situations

Means the transmission won't automatically switch back into auto mode and downshift/upshift, respectively, for you

Curious about the ELSD.
I know of the concept but have not noticed it in this vehicle. With everything off the only thing I notice is the open Dif. Shocking to see in a 60k car. |

Nah.. according to that graph looks like it will set it back to "Comfort" mode? Or end up with light steering and light suspension.
It would be nice if we could adjust the settings individually like the M3's. Sometimes I would like heavy steering, exhaust "burble" and tight suspension and not always sensitive throttle.. It should have come with heavy steering, firm suspension with the options for light or sensitive throttle and burble or not.. Last edited by BMRSEB; 08-01-2017 at 09:06 PM.. |
