Well I've tried to ignore the issue, but the fact that my 6 month old car isn't 100% perfect is bothering me. I've done some more digging and it sounds almost exactly the same as:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...?v=eWAT-ENBbXc

The guys in this thread reported that it's mostly audible in their E92 with the windows down. Conversely, mine is VERY audible from the interior... so I'm wondering if it could be this. Additionally, the car is very new, so would a differential issue be that feasible?

I'm taking it to San Antonio BMW on Wednesday.

Well it's been in the shop for a couple weeks now and they found that it was coming from the C-pillar.

Apparently the fix was to fill the empty space with silicone, while opening a PUMA case with BMW. According to the foreman, there's no more knocking.

To me it sounds like they're just deadening the sound as opposed to fixing something.

They said they couldn't figure it out... maybe the chassis torquing.
