No more brake dust
I own a 2014 435i m sport with the bmw m performance big brake kit. The brake dust these brakes produce and all bmw brakes produce is ridiculous so I bought some centric ceramic brake pads from rock auto. The fronts fit fine they are the same as the m sport brakes, however the rears I bought were also for the m sport brake caliper and they do not fit the performance rear brake calipers so if you do this be sure you get a visual so you can get the right ones. The picture with the two pads is showing the performance pad on the top and the m sport pad that I got by mistake on the bottom. I just drove my car 400 miles and the wheels still look perfectly clean. Anybody who owns a bmw of any description should put ceramic pads on it. They also feel better than the oem pads....I highly recommend doing this ! I have made several changes to my car and so far this is the best one !

how do they feel? this is definitely a route i plan on going when it's time to replace pads.
i put the akebono ceramic pads on my e90 and loved them (after the first 1k miles or so they needed to break in). i haven't seen that akebono makes them for the f30 though. full ceramic is awesome though, brake dust is almost completely eliminated.

I am in the UK and considering a move to different pads. Please could you let me know exactly which pads they are and possibly part numbers as I will have to try and source them over here. Cheers!

I put posi quiets on my 335 and while I love the minimal brake dust, the braking performance is pretty abysmal. I felt the stock pads were a little too aggressive, but I would rather have that now. Next time around, I'm not sure I'll stick with ceramics.

Centric 10516090 these are the fronts. I could not get centric rear ceramics so am waiting for power stop z231656. I'll have to let you know how those work. So far I am loving the fronts. If you have the m sport brakes the centric rear ceramic is a 10516100

Personally I'll gladly sacrifice some performance for low dust. So far performance is equal or better.

Thank you for writing this up... I have the M Perf brakes and I'm tired of the brake dust... I moved on both your suggestions and it all came up to about $95 for the full front and rear set... I'll let you know how they are once I install them

I'm running EBC blues and the amount of brake dust and disc streaking is fearsome, way, way worse than stock M pads. They squeal something fierce when cold, too. But then again I was at the track a couple of weeks ago and I trashed the hell outta those pads lap after lap and could still lock the wheels at 130mph at the end of the main straight.
It does suck pretty bad having spent close to 2k on wheels and tires and having them be dirt 30 miles after I wash them. I might consider some ceramic pads next, but I have to be sure performance doesn't take a hit so I'll have to read up some... |

Akebono ceramics are pretty good. They won't have that great initial bite, but as soon as they heat up they will STICK. Plus they won't fade at all as they're pretty heat resistant.
I've also heard of people spraying sealant on their wheels.

I'm running EBC Red's on my M-Perf Brakes and have loved them so far. No dust and they feel smooth with great initial bite.

Awesome this is good to know. I can't stand the oem pads i wash my wheels and the next day they look like they haven't been washed for over 3 weeks.
