CIC to NBT touch - What is needed for touch function?

Hi,

I am about to do a CIC (with Combox) to NBT touch retrofit. As I understand it:

1) NBT idrive controller is not lug and play
2) If I want the controller and touch functionality, I will need to either splice into some cables or build/buy an adapter cable.

Is there a DIY to get the touch function and NBT idrive knob retrofit?
Is there a place to buy the appropriate cable or do I have to build one, if I don't want to splice wires?

Thanks

There is another forum user that made and sold a Y connector for a very cheap price.

Search in the electronics section for touch controller about 2 years ago.

You do need to code into the car to work.

Codes are also in that thread.

But key thing is I do not believe touch system will work with CIC. Pretty sure you need a NBT System.

Again, I am speaking of the touch function, not a touch idrive controller.

And the itouch idrive controller is on KCAN2, not KCAN as the CIC is.

As thus, wiring is needed to connect to KCAN2 bus.

Thanks for the reply. I am going full NBT and have the headunit. Just looking at what I might need to get the touch idrive wheel and functionality working without splicing. I have looked and found nothing yet.

I will keep looking.

This is not a do it yourself for most people. It has a high degree of difficulty to get correct.

Just search for the myriad of threads and cries for help started by your fellow Canadian Martyn88 over the past 10 days.

martyn88 is from the UK. are you sure you are not referring to someone else?

Most of the install will be handled by a shop. it is just the touch wheel and function retrofit that is on the table. and I don't want to be splicing wires, so I am trying to find the person who sold a cable , or a DIY for the cable alone.
