I am in Canada and have production number and VIN (probation not valid until production)
What can I do to see progress on my build?

Congratulations on the order.

Unlike the US, there is not much that we can see here. You may be able to use the last 7 of the VIN to see your owner's manual on the US site. You may also be able to use a VIN decoder to see what is in your build. If your dealer provides you with the shipping information you can also track its progress through the railway tracking system.

My build started today and my VIN was activated.
At least some progress.

When mine was built there were significant shipping delays. It arrived about 5 weeks after the build date, and another week at the dealer (I could have pressed a bit on that). It was really frustrating because it sat at the factory for three weeks without moving. Apparently there was a shortage of rail cars. Hopefully that has improved.

you can call 800 567-2691 and they may be able to help. They could only tell me that my vehicle is scheduled to be built in May.

My March 17 build took until May 11th to be delivered to me. The rail car shortage seems to be happening still, and they are shipping by boat to Halifax.

If it helps, I officially had an April 2 build date and vehicle was ready at the dealer May 17. Basically 6 weeks to Edmonton, ab.

December 4 build date. Delivered to dealer January 12 and delivered to me January 19. But somehow BMW has the in service date as December 31 (dealer was closed that day and the car was still on a rail car). So watch your dates - I suspect someone was fudging to meet 2017 quota.

I had week 18 build (w/o May 7) and as far as I know it is still sitting in South Carolina waiting for a rail car (today is June 6). I live on Vancouver Island Canada. Very disappointed . I'm very interested to hear from others in Western Canada on how their delivery is progressing.

My vehicle got delayed getting to Halifax, and I was told it should have now left there, on it's way here (langley dealer). rough estimate of 3rd week June. I am supposed to be getting an update on the delivery this Friday. I'll let you know more when I do. It seems these vehicles are rawt with delays (although could just be the demand for them).

My car has a March 29 build date. It arrived at the dealer on May 16th. It takes longer for a US build to arrive in Western Canada than one originating in Germany. I wonder what will happen when manufacturing will move to South Africa.

Mine had a production date of April 24th, and should be here mid-late June. Looks like 1.5-2 months depending on what, if any, delays come up.
