wiper control Auto mode LED really dim

This may sound kind of small, but on the wiper control lever, when in Auto mode there is a little green LED. in my X3 its so dim its not really visible in daylight. on my F25, the controls were a bit different, but had Auto mode and an LED that was bright and useful to see if you were in that mode at a glance. on the G01, its useless.

anyone else notice this? If its just mine i may get it services - if its everyone i prob won't bother.

Are you sure your parking lights or headlights are not activated? Check your headlight switch.

That doesn't make sense. My state and many others require lights on when using windshield wipers by state law

Just look in the instrument cluster, towards the left/upper left:

i just drove in the rain - checked the LED again with the light switch in all 4 modes - has no impact on the Auto wiper LED on the control - its uselessly dim. maybe i should have it replaced.

and the point i was making about state law - I understand how to tell if the lights are on however an LED on the wiper controls should not get dim because the lights are on. There are reasons to use lights during daylight like rain....

What I was asking was to see if your parking lights or headlights were on was because the interior lighting in many areas of the car is affected by the headlights are parking lights being on. A lot of the interior lights and display dim when the car believes it is dark outside. If your led stays the same regardless of light position than you might want to have the dealer check it. I hope this makes more sense for you.

Just as a point of reference, I used my auto wipers today, and the LED on the wiper stalk was clearly lit when activated.

Thank you. Thats what I needed. Def want to get this fixed, but likely not worth a special service visit - next time i need to go in for something else....
