Question: best self-coding option: BimmerCode?
Easy question, is BimmerCode the best self-coding option for me? I'm not super computer/coding savvy and don't want to fuck anything up. I've read horror stories about Carly, so I was swayed from it.
Let me know what you guys think |

As far as user-friendly features go.....if I'm not a programming genius, can I fuck my dme up? How easy is this thing to use and code? I just want the folding mirrors, the M startup shit, and to code off my front Amber running light but of course have it remain blinking |

BimmerCode and BimmerLink is the best combo going for someone not super well versed in coding (like me).
Cant really fuck anything up unless you try to. Take your time and pay attention to what you are doing and you'll be fine. You also need an Vgate iCar WiFi device as well. All in, its under a $100 investment and be able to code just about anything you want as well as read and clear trouble codes. Highly recommend this set up! |

Read the Bimmercode website for current recommendations. Stephan recommends bluetooth over wifi, and is currently NOT recommending Vgate until they solve a supplier problem.

He 100% told me to get Vgate WiFi but that was 7 or 8 months ago. I have not had a single issue with my unit. Honest to god... I would never intentionally steer someone wrong... |

I was not casting aspersions on anyone -- just noting that I saw that information on the Bimmercode site earlier in the day. Your reputation is someone who helps everyone on this forum! |

I just picked this one up. Should be good to go followed links from bimmercode.
Question for after coding. If I get software updates at Bmw, will my changes in coding be erased? |

you will have to recode after updates and you will also need to reset your presets after coding
