Angel eyes not working, drivers side F30
Hi, newbie here with a newbie question.
I think i have the Bi-Xenon halo rings in my 2014 328i xdrive. Nice and bright, not yellow and they are horseshoe shape The drivers side ones (both) do not light up. I'm trying to find out if it is the rings that need to be replaced or is it a bulb that lights up the rings that need to be replaced. I've seen lots of info in changing bulbs but haven't seen anything about getting right into the headlamp assembly and changing the rings. Can't imagine that would be easy. also, given that they both are out it can it be a power supply issue, software or hardware? Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks Last edited by ovsa; 11-05-2018 at 08:29 AM.. |

Thank you.
Do you think these are for the bi-xenons or just the halogens.? Shouldn't there be two, one for each ring? I guess the best way would be to remove the wheel well cowling and see how it looks from there. Thanks again. |

If you have xenon headlights the angel eyes are powered with the headlight power module. and the angeleyes are 2 separate bulb( led module). so i think you have a bad headlight power module.

Just getting around to this issue again.
I swapped the headlight module (#5) from the right side (working) to the left side( not working) It made no difference, iî so I can assume the headlight module is good. I was going to do the same with the LED modules (#3) but couldn't Figure out how to disconnect the electrical connection without breaking it. It's pretty small and delicate. Any ideas how it's done? Thanks , |

O.K. Thanks.
I'll give that a try next time i'm under there. I do have a Daytime/Parking light malfunction warning light on all the time. My halos are not working on the drivers side so i was going to try swapping with the good side to see if that makes a difference before ordering two new LED modules. Thanks for your help. |

Does anyone know how to test the LED modules to see if they are working or not?
There are three small brass pins and two side contacts that connect to a terminal that broke of while i was trying to disconnect it. Both LED are out and am trying to isolate the problem before buying new ones. thanks |

Im having the exact same issue, but on the passenger side. I noticed the access panel was missing and both LED's just happened to go out after I drove through a big puddle after it rained. Something must have gotten wet, but what?? What sends power to the lights? Is it something that can be DIYed? oh and its only the DRL's that went out, everything else works fine and Im getting the same error...Daytime/Parking light malfunction

Hard to say what the issue is as there are so many different components to those lights.
I've heard/read that the footwell module will cut power of to the lighting if it detects a short. Not sure if that affects all lights or just the DRLs. In that case you would need to code it back on, something only a BMW shop can do unless you have the proper scanner. Or you can try what i did; move the components from one side to the other see if that does anything, but its time consuming and tricky. Those little contacts on the LED modules break easy. i took a chance and just ordered two new LED modules from ebay for just under $100, so hopefully that will work. If not , it's off to the shop for a few hundred more. Good luck. |

etsanchez82 , I'm with ovsa but instead, swap the drivers control module and see if theres a change since that easy to swap over as long as you don't have large hands.
