M4 Alloys fitment

Hi All

quick question, i aready know that M4 / M3 437m alloys fit a f30, but will 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 tyres be ok on a s drive car?

From what I read up when I ran 437m, no they won't. I ran 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 on an s drive 335i and they poked out a fair bit.

They will look like roller skate wheels no matter what tyres you put on them.

Oh ok. Thought people were running standard 437m wheels on F30’s and they would fit ok without spacers. Clearly not then!!!

Spacers would make the situation worse, F80 arches are a lot wider than the F30.

There will be some reps available in the correct offset though.

Yeah not keen on buying rep’s to be honest as the quality can be ropey from what i have heard....?!?

Was only contemplating it as the wheels need a refub due to corrosion and rear tyres are probably due a replacement soon.

I went to see a set of 437Ms recently that were for sale. Even with 235/265 front/rear tyres that the seller had fitted, rather than 255/275 OEM sizes, the rears poked out around 15mm beyond the rear arches. They just didn't look right - way too chavvy for my liking.

It's important to get the appropriate offsets so that the rims fit the car properly. My 403Ms with 10mm spacers align perfectly to the outer face of the arches, which to me looks just right.

They can be very heavy as most are cast unlike the Fuchs forged 437M a quality wheel and I can see why you'd want them.

Yeah cheers.

Just measured the rears and they have circa 3.6mm left on them, when do people change tyres??? Wondering whether people let them get down a little further or change about that point?

I think they look better if the car is lowered... the camber kinda helps shift them inside the wheel arches, but on stock m sport, yeah they will poke out slightly.

There's plenty of pics on here, when lowered they suit really well.

I've just bought some and out on xdrive.. yeh it looks a bit odd with the tractor suspension, but lowered it makes it look aggressive... maybe too much for some, but personally I think they're a great looking wheel.

However, 255s at front will be too wide.

@[R99] has them in his sdrive with 245s at front and and 265 at back I believe..

Agreed, it's a shame too because they're forged, look good, and on the used market can be had for a bargain (for forged wheels). Maybe I'll lower the car first, then jump on some 437s

Yeh... I say go for it, lower and get some.. I don't I'll get much less for my 442m than I paid for the 437s... happy for the m3/m4 owners to upgrade theirs

I have 12mm front & rearspacers with 403M's winter and 442M's summers with standard size tyres which as above looks perfect to me.

I like the idea of the bigger 'dish' look but can be a bit Carlos Fandango if you're old enough to remember!

Haha, yes that's exactly what 437M's look like on an F3x!!

Christ there’s some rubbish being posted on here!

The 437m’s fit fine with the correct tyres and if you close up the arch gap.

As posted earlier, I run these on mine with H&R sports and 245/35/19 and 265/35/19.

No issues with rubbing, the stance is perfect and as already covered, they are forged so super light compared to the stock wheels!

ETTO of course, but imo your wheels do look like they poke out beyond the arches:

Maybe in that pic, but the camber of my drive always raises the ride height on the passenger side.

In person they don’t look roller skate like at all. Tyre treads are all under the arches and you can see a VERY small amount of sidewall from a birds eye view over the arches.

Nothing more than most aftermarket wheel options would give

Also those stretched tyres surely leave the wheels very prone to kerbing?
