Connected drive module where is it?

Hi everyone! Connected drive was suspended by the government in Turkey because the system uses not registered sim card and government doesnt allow to use non-turkish gsm operator. Redicilous!
So, i wonder if i change the sim card in the module, will it work? Where is the module? Thanks

It is called the TCB or ATM, depending on what your car is equipped with.

They have an eSIM that is not very easy to replace. Hot air station and careful soldering. I would say this is a bit hard even for the enthusiast.

Here I have replaced my eSIM from my old TCB module to another. This changes the ICC-ID (SIM ID) of the module.

If the ICC ID (and IMEI) of the module is different than what BMW has stored in their database, then ConnectedDrive will not work. So what you are looking to do, will not work.

Also the TCB (3g system) or ATM (4g system) module is located in the boot (trunk).

eSIM does exist everywhere. It is just a soldered SIM. It is probably possible to convert to nano SIM if you have the expertise.

BUT...

If you change SIM ID (ICC ID) then Connected Drive services stop working.

Not really. These are unique numbers.

So you either get your Turkish GSM provider to give you a SIM with your exact ICC ID (very hard), or you get BMW to change their servers to have a new ICC ID for your car (nearly impossible).

Thanks so much for identifying the eSIM chip. If I transfer my original eSIM chip from to a donor ATM board, and code my VIN onto the ATM module, will that be sufficient to restore all my services? Are there any other chips I need to transfer from the original ATM board that provide other IDs that are stored in BMW's databases to identify my car?

As a background, I have a water damaged ATM and have replaced it with second hand one. GPS works, but obviously not Connected Services.

Enabled - any response please, will be very much appreciated! Thanks

As background, I tried removing the eSIM from donor atm but no luck. Hard as rock even with hot station kit. The black backing just broke off, leaving the pins in place.
