Is it possible to remove the creases on the leather seat?
Hi All, the previous owner must have been getting out of the car rubbing the side and thigh bolster every single time. I'm wondering if there is a way of removing these creases (other than filling and painting), or should I just live with it? I've seen shoe videos they insert a shoe tree and heat but there's nothing I can support the bolster from under the leather.
PS, don't use Chemical Guys' leather kit, doesn't remove dirt or shine effectively, and afterwards the leather makes squeaky noise when sat on. |

It's the grain in the leather. Like your skin, it wrinkles. Keep it clean to minimize the dirt & oils accumulating in the creases.

I think the only way to avoid creases like that is to not sit in the seat.
They key is to keeping the leather clean and conditioned so the colored layer of the leather doesn't crack and split.

The other side and passenger seats may have had lighter and smaller asses on them as all leather does this eventually
![]() As has been said, enjoy the patina OR put a seat cover over it if it bothers you that much does show more on light colours though.Seriously though, just keep it clean and feed the leather, it will love you for it. |

The wrinkles give character to leather and make it more comfortable too. What you have to watch out for are tears along those wrinkles. Leather will dry out and dirt will build up in those wrinkles. Dirt and rips along those wrinkles are what make leather look old and worn out especially light color. Softer and thinner leather are even more prone to wrinkles. Just use a good leather soap and conditioner.

FWIW, you can minimize the wrinkle. Add more stuffing under the seat where the wrinkles occur. You're basically pushing against the wrinkle from the inside - thus smoothing it out.
