BMW F30 (GPS NAVIGATION SHOWS IN THE OCEAN / Unable to calculate route ERROR) ?? HELP
Hello mates I just bought a 2014 BMW F30 320d. I have the 2014 EUROPE Next map on it and the NBT multimedia. Now I am facing with a problem, the navigation starts without any issues but however it shows that my car is in the ocean O.o
I really thought this was just a bug but it seems it's stuck there and does not move anyway ( while my car is moving the navigation gps stays in the same location in the ocean ). So I tried to put a destination and i found my city in the navigation set a destination but it says: Unable to calculate route. Does someone know what could be facing my problem. Is it the maps that need updating, or is it a gps related problem. I've read about some issues with antenas, could be it? Can I replace the antena on my own? If anybody had this problem please share some info on how you got it solved. Thanks |

Is that coordinates 0,0?
Your gps antenna might have disconnected 0,0 |

This is in my trunk, as I can see everything is fine and connected. Where else should I check, so I can know where the problem is |

I just removed the center vent panel, the center climate control and under it i took out the NBT "box". As far as I could see everything was connected in it's place. I check all of the cables including the blue cable for the GPS antenna and it was in place too. What troubleshooting should I do next? How can i test the antenna before replacing it? I already ordered a "replacement" one that looks like a small square and I see everyone retrofitting NBT installing it. I guess it will come in 2-3 weeks so how can I test the antena in meanwhile? Thanks.

Hello Mates, I just fixed my Navigation so to everyone who experiences this problem PLEAE READ IF YOU DON'T WANT to get Ripped Off.
So I took my car to the dealer and after they inspected the "navi" they said it needs a whole unit replacement, at cost of 1600$-1800$. I thought about it and said it can't be that bad so I did not leave the car for servic. I got home and started inspecting the things related to the problem, searching online etc. My navi worked however the gps coordinates were wrong and stuck at 0,0 as if I was not moving. So I found out that my antenna is faulty. I bought an gps antena for $20 from a local store but it did not come with the blue connector as on my bmw. So I had to cut the wires from it, and also cut the connector from the OEM antenna so I can merge these two to make it work.. I replaced it, then started the car... Still nothing. the problem persisted. So I thought i'd leave it like that, I mount back the ac climate unit and the trims all in place... Couple of minutes later I went into town and drove for like 5-10 miles, and suddennly the navigation FOUND my location and started working. As I read online it needs a short drive after you replace the antenna to start working.. SO this fixed my problem and everyone who has the same problem don't get ripped off, try with the cheaper possible solution first! Hope this helps you. |

Ensure time settings are set to auto-update and GPS tracking option is enabled.
Worked for me after 6 months of frustration and a pointless Atm battery change. |

Hey mates, any thoughts on this topic?
My F30 2013 NBT do not want to calculate the Navi route anymore. Have this issue suddenly and i tried diferent restarts, removing the NBT unit, changed the GPS antenna, cable. Everything else is in place (sound, bluetooth, radio, Maps). The same story as above: Locatted into the ocean. THANK YOU |

I dont know if there is a fuse for this maybe you should check that first. Also if you replaced the unit only maybe there is a connection problem somewhere between the Headunit and the antena itself, try doing my method with a cheap gps antena from amazon/aliexpress/ebay. Cut the wires and merge them with the 2 wires that go into the headunit. This way you will eliminate the possibility of a broken connection between headunit and antenna itself. Also check the power on the GPS antena it should be 3-5V. |

What I wouldn't do is to spend a lot of money trying to fix it. Google maps on your phone works just as well. Actually better, you can use Google maps on your computer to find a destination and send it to your phone. My BMW lost the ability to do that six years ago.
