Greetings all,

Trying to find anybody in the Kansas City metro that has a e90 330i, and is willing to spend a little bit of time helping me put my mind at ease.

I recently had the valve cover replaced on my car, and almost immediately after picking it up, I noticed a noise when starting the engine that (I think) my car did not make before. When I went back to the dealership to show them, at first the SA acknowledged the sound and agreed it sounded like a 'clunking' sound. However, after they looked at it and could not find any obvious problems, he back peddeled a bit and suggested that the car is not making any unusual noises. He later called me to say he was in another e90 330i like mine, and it made the same noise. So far, I've already had two problems that the dealer has told me were totally fine/normal when I pointed them out, only to have them turn into "real" problems later.

So here's the deal. Is anybody around here willing to meet up with me, and help me compare my car to theirs? I just want to establish whether I'm insane and this noise has been there since I got my car (which is totally fine, should that be the case), or if other unbiased people agree that it's making unusual and obnoxious noises when it starts.

ive drove a couple of 330i and bmw m1,,they do have an unusual clunking sound when starting..i guess your situation is just normal...
