stupid GF stuck 2 cd' s in dvd reader, PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone,

as you can see by the title of this thread, I' m having serious issues with my E90, and once again it is down to letting the GF drive it.

she basically forced an audio cd into the business dvd reader while the navigation dvd was still in!!!
of course everything is stuck, unit won' t eject cd despite making plenty of strange noises when trying. So I don' t have navigation anymore (idrive says dvd isn' t there), and I don' t have audio cd either.

I contacted BMW, but they told me they won' t cover this under the warranty (no surprise, but I still tried).

I found a pdf on how to take the dvd unit out of the dash. I can do it, but then what can I do? Can I somehow open the unit and get the cd out, or will I just make things worse?

Thanks for your help!

P.S. yes I know, I won' t let her drive my car again!

I got a manual tranny to make sure my girl will NEVER drive my car.

On to your other problem...
I ran into a similar situation... cd stuck in unit.
different car, but I was able to remove the unit and open it to remove the cd.
put back together and all was good.
I have not seen the BMW units so I cannot tell you if this will be easy/hard.

Might also want to go to your local audio/stereo shop. they might give you
an idea of how easy/hard it will be.

Good luck.

fixed, can close thread

and yes FrankoQ, manual tranny would be a good idea, but here in Europe everyone drives manual cars, so I will need to find another idea to keep the bloody GF away from my car (she had already scratched the bumpers by backing into a wall)!!!
