Unhappy "Refill Coolant" light will not go away!

2013 328i xdrive n20

Hi guys,

So I've been dealing with this refill coolant issue for nearly 6 months now.

Oct 2020: I drive my car out of the garage and i get the "refill coolant' light.
I take it straight to my indy (highly reputable BMW specialist) and they show me that my tank is leaking, there is coolant all over the place and the tank is nearly empty. They install a new OEM(Mahle) coolant tank and the leaking stops and the light is gone. They charge me $430 for parts and labor.

Next day: The coolant light comes back on and I call my guy and he says the sensor is probably faulty and they will warranty the part and replace. Which they do in the next few days. The light goes away for a few days but comes back again. No charge.

A few days later: They say that it might be something deeper and electrical but that it should not affect the engine at all because the coolant tank is actually full.

The next few months: Coolant light comes on 70% of the time but coolant tank is full.

Early March 2021: I take it back to my indy and they replace the harness. NO charge because this is the 3rd time with the same issue. No light for 1 day but comes back on again.

Mid March 2021: I take to BMW, they say coolant is full so tank is fine, needs $190 1 hour diagnostic to figure out the problem. I pass.

Late March: I take it back to the indy and they say a wire was pinched and they replace/rewire. No charge. It goes away.

AND it's back again!

SO i have no idea what to do now, thinking of taking it to BMW and doing the diagnostic at this point because I am staring to feel bad about taking it back to the indy for no charge.

Was the system bled properly? If you have air in the line it could make the pump dry run which would trigger that code as well.

+ 1. If the reservoir is leaking coolant out then it's letting air in.
