Greetings! According to realoem.com I have the n47n engine. I was just wondering if it's the same as the n47d20c? Thanks

I don't know what the specific differences are between them as N47N is just a variant of the N47 engine (i.e. N47 -> N47N -> N47T)...however that doesn't tell you what size engine it is as it could be a D16 or a D20...and the same block could be used on different models with different intakes/emissions control/fuel delivery systems/etc.


The 'D20' is just to identify the fuel (D = diesel / B = benzine/petrol) and size (2.0 litre) of that engine, so N47D16 would be the 1.6 litre.

RealOEM says mine has a N47D20C, however it doesn't specify whether it's a older N47N or the newer N47TU - however a VIN decoder tells me it is the later N47TU which correlates with it being built a month before they changed to the B47.

Thank you so much for you response! I decided to check my engine number on the engine block and it said N47D20C. Its just weird that realoem showed n47n and other decoder site says n47t. It just sucks because I thought they have fixed the timing chain issues already. My car has the chain noise gonna have to buy the kit to have it replaced.
